I smell a hoax...look at the user's profile. No feedback to speak of, no record of selling anything else on Ebay. Just doesn't add up. Ebay has been full of scams lately.
VI, I am definitely interested in learning more about proper sharpening. I have some knives that i think could be decent if I knew what I was doing. Are the any resources you recommend?
Learn to sharpen. If you can, you can sharpen a cheap knife t…
I did not do a cure burn. Just let it set for a day or two and then resumed cooking like normal. My dome is off a little too, but the Rutland has done a good job of still keeping it sealed. Not sure how much yours is off but mine was barely noticeab…
I put on a rutland a couple of months back .I used the stock glue that it came with and it did not hold at all. I let it set overnight and it was like there was no adhesive at all when i touched it. It came right off in my hand. I went that day and …
I just did 3 racks of BB's last weekend. I stood them up on a rib rack. MY first try at BB's afew weeks ago I laid them right on the grate....they were horrible. Ever since then I have been using a rack and have been told by multiple people that the…
Looks great and I think I'm gonna try this method. How did the bone side turn out? Was it burned or black? Did you sauce both sides?
The bone side was black. I used a dry rub (blow boys yard bird) on both sides. Last 30 minutes I put on sweet bab…
I've never hear of a Rutland gasket applied with Permatex Ultra Copper needing a replacement. That's what I did and it's been perfect for a year or so now. I even had a free replacement Nomex sent to me, but after doing a lot of research, I decid…
I would go for the Rutland gasket. Replaced mine a few weeks back and have been pleased. It was cheaper that the Nomex, less than 20 bucks for the gasket and adhesive. The gasket comes in a kit with adhesive but its junk. Go to your local auto parts…
I was always under the impression that Bluetooth was only good for 10 metres, just a tad over 30 feet.
Gerhard
Yep, I used to work for Verizon...Bluetooth has a range of about 30-50 ft depending on what's in the way. Clear line of sight you may be…
There are a few "convenience" differences on the 732. As already stated, the range is 300 ft versus 100 ft. Also, the button to sync the two units on the 73 is under the battery cover which makes it somewhat of a pain. The biggest functional differe…
I have found an electric starter to be the easiest. Fill up with lump, shove the starter into the middle of the pile and plug it in to an extension cord. In 10 minutes or less you have a nice pile of glowing coals. Can't get much easier!
Yes, definitely preheat the stone. I put mine on as soon as I fire up the Egg and once the temp gets where I need it to be I let it sit for about 10 minutes while i finish prep on my pizza.
I've heard it done both ways. I don't think there is a right or wrong way. This setup has turned out several awesome pizzas for me so I really have no reason to do it any different. To me this is one cook where the addage "If your lookin you're not …
I have found pizzas to be super easy. I set up with the platesetter, feet up, grate on top and the pizza stone directly on the grate. I fire the Egg up to 550-600 and then toss the pizza on. Putting it on parchment paper sprinkled with a little four…
I just put a Rutland on my large Egg. I used the adhesive that it came with at first and it never held. I finally went to my local O-Reilly auto parts store and bought a tube of Permatex Ultra Copper. I do believe it could survive tornado force wind…
I guess I was too honest. I just called and when he asked how old my Egg was I told him over a year. He said that the gasket was covered for a year. So, i'm bascially on my own. Oh well, it's a cheap fix.

I have done tilapia before and it turned out excellent. I put the filets in individual tin foil boats, covered them with old bay seasoning and lemon juice and fired up the egg to about 350-400 indirect. I threw in a small handfull of apple chips whi…
I just put on a Rutland last weekend myself. It was a very easy process. Scraping off the old gasket took longer than putting the Rutland on. I used the Whiz's directions at a guide. It was much easier than i thought reading through his instructions…
I bought mine 4 weeks ago from amazon.com for $59. Got a $30 instant credit for signing up for one of their credit cards...no strings attached.
Thanks for this tip! I just ordered mine! I usually am a big fan of supporting local business, but wh…
