Never saw anybody that doesn't love an ABT. I do a shrimp one with cream cheese, gruyere and diced pineapple and a whole shrimp. 41-50 count
Now that sounds good!

My favorite is Ozark Oak.....it's getting rather pricy though. I pay $10.99 for a 10lb bag in Plano, TX. I've tried Whole Foods house brand 365...something like $5.95 for an 8.5lb bag. For the price, it's very good.
Good to…

Terrible experience with Humphrey's Lump Charcoal. I ordered four, forty pound bags from the Humphrey website $24.95 per bag and $52 to ship it to Franklin, TN. All four bags were filled with very small pieces and dust. I built …
My Walmart in Sarasota just started carrying B&B Oak lump. It pops a little bit but so far I'm pleased. It's about $7 for a 10lb bag with good size pieces.
Ash removal for me. I usually take it apart and vacuum it out about every other week. But every time I open the screen door the built up ashes go everywhere.
Burgers are also a pain for me. The grease in the ground beef causes major flare ups every …

My egg always leaked on the right side until I put a Rutland on it. Now it doesn't leak at all. I know that doesn't answer the question of whether a gasket is needed, but if the leaking bothers you, a Rutland will probably fix it.

Tastes better cooked in the egg, so we do it in the egg. Simple as that.
I agree. Plus, it frees up the oven for whatever the wife is cooking.
This is one of Emeril's turkey brines. It is outstanding:

Do you know what grade the meat was? I suspect that, not the egg or cooking.
I agree with this. I recently did a prime rib and it sucked. The meat had very little marbling. You need that in prime rib.
I've so much trouble with cooking steaks on the BGE using the TRex method, it's not even funny. The only success I've had is using the hot tub method. It's almost like cheating, though.
Did a chicken last night...outstanding! Sprinkled salt on and let it sit in the fridge over night. Rubbed some herbed butter under the skin, then on the outside and sprinkled with pepper. Used just a small handful of hickory chips. Cooked indirect a…
VI,
Thanks for sharing the gumbo recipe. It looks relatively easy to build/prepare.
I recently helped my brother with an office cookoff and he wanted to make gumbo. We bought a duck and lightly smoked it on the BGE. WOW!!!! That was out of this worl…
I just bought Curry-ish, Jamaican Firewalk, and Shakin the Tree this week. I keep a supply of Shakin the Tree on hand. I think mixing that with the Firewalk will make an awesome wing rub/ dust.
Wicked Good delivered to any ACE or buy from Humphrey's...$38 for a 40 lb bag delivered. The stuff you can buy from Sam's, Costco, or BJ's isn't bad, either. $20 for 34 lbs.

I love Oliva V's for consistency and flavor. Cubans have become too inconsistent - when you get a good one they are incredible - the other 80% of the time they are either fake or no better than Dominican and Nicaraquan. …
