We hope everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July weekend and is excited for more warm weather grilling! This week, we’ll be making these two burgers: Stuffed Portobello Mushroom and Caribbean Chicken, and also eating lots of these Ice Cream Sandwiches in honor of National Ice Cream Month! It's time to think about getting out to one of the many #EGGfests around the country - see a list here

  • I leave mine outside all the time whether home or gone. I try not to worry about stuff, I leave that to my wife and she is good at it.
  • Has anyone tried the High Heat Gasket Kit from High-Que? It appears to be the Nomex gasket with the self-adhesive backing. I watched their installation video and it looked pretty straightforward. Just wondering if anyone has experience with that bra…

  • I'm living proof that cedar planked salmon won't make you sick. Done it many times. Folks been doing it for a long, long time.
  • Looks like this was spatchcock weekend. I cooked up two five pound birds myself. I cooked these indirect at 400 dome, turned out great. I have also done them direct, good that way too.
  • Notified I would get the swing rack on 8-6 (Monday). Called home today and found out it arrived on Friday. Great service Franko. Can't wait to check it out Wednesday.

  • Ate at Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur, AL. That was some fine eating. Left with some of his sauce.
  • DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!  Everyone made the list and I have 1 left.  So there's no need to list the names of the people who made it, you all did.  However, shaft kits are short handed by 5 orders.  I'm trying to get the kits moved up. Now the…

  • Is this a real problem?
  • I have not noticed a lot of unburned lump in the bottom a,though there's some. No issue with burning pieces falling through that I can tell. None here either. Haven't had the fire choked since I got the Hi-Q grate.
  • Bigguy, that looks great. Gonna try that soon.
  • Got mine from Amazon.
  • At 300 degree, cook for an hour and tent for 15 minutes??? Have I missed something here???
  • Sounds good to me. Let us know, with pics, how they turn out. Many, many ways to do ribs and most are good.
  • Has anybody received an ordered table from biggreeneggtables.com? Been quiet lately on this subject.
  • 350ish til it oozes=done  Will be moist and delish.
  • Put a price on it, that way somebody will steal it. Nobody steals free stuff.
  • Thanks again CTS. Got the info on the other post, just not the time it takes. Somebody on another post said it took 2 hours. This seemed a little extreme to me.
  • Cen-Tex-Smoker, how would you warm baby backs in food saver? Boiling water or just hot and for how long. How will I tell when they are ready.
  • Ordered my swing rack yesterday. Franco, how long will I wait????

  • FWIW- (and only an opinion and we all know what those are worth) I like the fact that the stock hole on the lower/main grate is out there at the outer edge/diameter with the "old modified" system-just a bit more unimpeded room on the main grid altho…

  • Duly noted and will be taken into consideration. @eggo, you have a tremendous amount a spacing at your disposal, however one issue eggers run into is this, the main grate sits 4" below the gasket so even though you can lower the upper as much as y…

  • GoFor anyone on a budget, check out this one for $19 http://www.thermoworks.com/products/low_cost/rt301wa.html I have it and it takes readings in between 3-5 seconds.  It has a very thin probe and best of all, you can calibrate it (it has a pot ad…
  • Can you vary the space between the grates? Looks like different length pipes would do this.

  • I used Ready Seal on my cypress. Check it out at:   readyseal.com
  • The whole clan is here, say 10 people. I plan to cook two large spatchcock hens, some planked salmon, and smoked sausage. The ladies are in charge of the sides, what ever they be. Will be a happy Father's day. Had the chicken in the fridge over nigh…

  • Thanks Tazcrash. I am grilling two birds Sat and will try icing the breasts. Other than drying in the fridge over night, how do you get it to come out crispy?
  • I go with raised grid direct around 350-400 (wherever it settles) until around 160 in the breast and 180+ in the thigh, somewhere around an hour +/- to cook.  I do ice the breasts for around 20 mins before tossing on the BGE.  Check out the naked wh…
  • And here, and here
  • I heard years ago that dry ice put on the dent would pull it out. Never tried it though.
