I believe it is a BGE OEM accessory. I bought it from a BGE retailer at the same time as the egg. I think the wood is cypress, and it retails unfinished for around $500. I honestly forgot exactly what I paid for it.
I guess technically it was just finished...not re-finished, as the wood was stock from the factory.
I used minwax red mahogany followed up with their semi gloss spar varnish.

thanks for the great info. If Spares will take 4 hours before the foil, should I put them on for an hour first...and then throw the BB's with them, so they all are ready for foiling, and then serving at the same time?
1.5 TO 2hrs per pound I think is the going rule of thumb for pork shoulder...but I've also heard, each butt will always cook slightly differently. No expert...just what I've heard.
