We hope everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July weekend and is excited for more warm weather grilling! This week, we’ll be making these two burgers: Stuffed Portobello Mushroom and Caribbean Chicken, and also eating lots of these Ice Cream Sandwiches in honor of National Ice Cream Month! It's time to think about getting out to one of the many #EGGfests around the country - see a list here

  • Too lazy/rushed to turn around and put the gas cap towards the pump?   (tip for those of you who get rental cars often: most (but not all) auto makes put a small arrow next to the gas pump symbol on the gas gauge in the car, so you can pull up to a …

  • :|  The last gift I got was a hotel soap; at least it was unopened.
  • I use an old hair dryer I picked up at a yard sale for $2.  Should mount a metal plate to the nozzle so I don't have to stand there and hold it.
  • They're probably not needed, but would prevent scratching your Egg's finish.I would get some black silicone rubber, smooth a layer around the metal tip, lay down a 1" cloth strip, then smear that with another layer of the silicone on top; should pro…

  • Thanks guys!  I don't think I have apple, will pick some up on the way home tonight.

  • Guess this pic doesn't even have my Egg in it, but I just finished it last summer.  Includes bubbling column and gas fire pit, utard stone benches & flagstone, PVC deck and steel/vinyl pergola:

  • I've used an electric knife on my briskets at home. A couple months ago I entered my first barbeque contest, and didn't have electricity.  I brought my slicer and serrated knives (both Henckel's).  The slicer worked beautifully on the first briskie …
  • I live in the church-state of utard. It's actually getting better here! The greatest thing was getting rid of the "private club" laws a few years ago, you no longer have to "join" a bar to get a drink there (with its attendant fees, paid from non-ld…

  • This reminds me of the first time I made a pizza in my oven with an actual pizza stone.  I preheated it at 500 degrees for a full half-hour, then snapped my delicious-looking pizza onto the stone. Or, at least, I tried. This was before I realized it…

  • To the OP: it's easily visible in your original pics that those holes exist in your inner bowls too, it's just the nature of this particular ceramic.  Air holes within ceramic will only increase its insulation value, a high selling point for the Egg…
  • I've used mine a couple times and LOVE it!  Some observations:- No sense in using the existing plate, or an aftermarket grate like I had, no point.- Not only can you shake most ash out away from the Egg, but the ash that DOES fall through, is totall…
  • Yup.  At standard "low-und-slow" temps of 200-250, the coal piles ain't that fiery and the briskie will shrink up behind the platesetter in a couple hours anyway. Pics of your first cook!
