I live in Canada and have had no troubles with mine and i use it more in the winter than the summer.To be honest i think it works better in the winter for some reason.I do cover it as soon as I can after i use it.

That is a big bird for an egg.What size egg do you have?I would try it in the egg before I planned on cooking it in there.If it does fit make sure it doesnt touch the thermo on the dome.It has happened to me .

I went with the nomex because of one reason the rutland fibers arnt safe the eat.I know you dont eat them but they are close to your food and didnt want to take the chance.I am sure the naked whiz explained this on his site.
