I use a set of welders gloves or the Ove-Glove. The ove glove is easy to wash; but they are a bit pricey, I heard they Menards carries knock of version too.
The egg retains a great deal more heat then the weber; so you will use less fuel for each cook. Fuel costs money. Over the long term you will save more money using an egg then the weber.
