  • Hi to Marysvilleegger!  Don't want to hijack this pork loin thread, but always glad to hear from a fellow Buckeye Egger.  Sandy
  • Hey there Henderson Trucking. We are also in Delaware Ohio. Have a few friends that work for Henderson. And we have two BGEs. Tried to figure out how to send you a pm but gave up. Sandy and George, too
  • At what point do you remove from the Egg and put it in the dehydrator?  Ready to attempt our first batch!
  • Not sure exactly how far it would be; but I would highly recommend the Cincinnati Porkopolis in July. If you are near the MI and Ohio border it would work for your distance preference. A lot closer than Atlanta for you for sure.  Porkopolis is a gre…
  • I just bought one for hubs.  Makes ash dumping and clean up so much easier. Ordered it on Sunday and had it on Tuesday.  Sandy
  • Your cookbook will help me prepare for our Porkopolis cook.  Thank you.
  • If you have your egg now; you should plan to attend the Porkopolis in Cincinnati  on July 12.  It's a great fest. My sons are cooking there this year.
  • BTW, our CARTen is a no-number also.  Ours was the first (before numbering started) Scott never anticipated this being big business.  We were in Texas visiting the family and purchased a small egg to travel in our fifth wheel with us.  When he reali…
  • So sorry that folks are having Carten securing issues.  Scott has moved to central Ohio and is trying very hard to find a source to do the water jet cutting for these sought after Carten's.  As soon as he finds a cutter he will again be back in Cart…
  • On the way to Salado Eggfest! Wish I were going too. Hope y'all have a grand time.
  • Solson; How neat to search for "Camp Bread" this morning and  your post from yesterday was the first post that came up.  Our son, Scott, designed, builds and sells the CARTens.  He made the first CARTen for us after we bought a SBGE and needed a way…
  • Thanks, I love our Carten, also.
  • WOW, great job on the table.  It really is a beauty.Sandy
  • Is there a special wok I should get for the large and also would like to know same for the small egg.
  • It works!  I made my own recipe for meatloaf and put it in a loaf pan for 30 min. then flipped it out onto the grill.  Worked fine tho I kinda burned the bottom.  But the top  tasted great. Sandy
  • OMG this sounds so incredibly yummy.  I am such a salmon fan.  I will definately get only Pacific salmon.  Your recipe sounds easy, too.  Thanks for the great directions. Sandy
  • Waaaaa, I wanna be at the Eggfest so bad.  But, on a positive note; Scott will be bringing 5 mini Cartens and I think he said 3 smalls.  And I would love to see the plates.  Off to the website!
  • You sure got some pretty buns!  Thanks for the links. I have the Kitchenaid and will be trying this.
  • OMG, they sure look awesome!  Gotta try these next.  Thanks for the info, too.
  • Mickey, Sure wish we could be there at the Eggfest. I think he got the measurements today of a mini today. BTW, I'm not your typical little ole gray haired lady.  ha. My hair is silver!  ( He told me what you said. ) Sandy
  • hsh750 if you email me I will forward your request to our son.  I think he has one small one ready as he made two when he made ours.  lakelewis@gmail.com Sandy
  • Marcusp-we do the same thing as you are considering.  We just bought a small Green Egg and love the way we now have to move it.  You can see what our son has designed amd built for us in my avatar picture.  We call it our Egg Carten.  We can move it…
  • Mickey if you are serious I can ask my son if he would consider making another one in mini size.  I think when he cut ours he may have cut two in the small size.  So he would probably let that one go as he doesn't have a small Egg.  I can check with…
  • Would have to check that out first, but right now I can't see why it wouldn't work that way....hmmm
  • MarcusP we also bought the Small to take when we camp/go south for winter.  However, we were more concerned about the actual moving of the Egg and wondered if we would be able to lift it to get it back in our basement of our fifth wheel.  It is bulk…
  • Glad you like our little insurance policy for our small Egg.  And Jasper we don't set the Egg on a wooden table, so burning is not an issue.  We use it on the tailgate. We haven't noticed that the Carten gets that hot.  To answer the comment about f…
  • Don't know how much of a market there would be; not a bad idea, Mickey. Squeezy; just a play on words, I guess.  Cause it's an egg carton and it's also a cart, there is no explaining  it I guess.  Sure makes it easy for two people to handle, I do kn…
  • No, it is the stand.  We use it just like you see it here. It never has to leave the CARTen.  That's the beauty of it.  It's portable and stable, too.
  • Mickey have you done a low and slow cook on the Small?  Just wondering if it is possible to do an overnight on this size.  We did get one yesterday and were able to put two strips, two tates and two slices of bread on it.  PERFECT!  We didn't get th…
