  • I've switched the new one and I don't like it.  the old style was better.  This new one even though it's ventilated, every time i remove the cover, there is all sorts of condensation on the grill.. my other cover, it would be completely dry.  Not a …

  • I just use the plate setter, legs down. use the little green "feet" that came with the Egg to put some space between the platesetter and the pizza stone. This air barrier really helps as I used to put the pizza stone right on the platesetter and e…

  • wow... I like Pat.. Wish they would get rid of Gina.. She's terrible and adds nothing to the show.
  • one of my favorite BBQ sauces. Got some of their hot sauce once and didn't know who it was called around and got their distributor by shear luck.. he was by my office (not really an hour away) and drove to my office... while he was there i bought a…
  • i bought mine from casual living and outdoor fireplace store... they were the most knowledgeable when i asked some questions... some other Egger's on this site have gone there too... though they are in Raleigh, so it's a bit of a drive for you... i …
  • that's about what i paid here... they only had a couple bags so i bought them... went back in a week later and there was a palette sitting there... It's the same (or very close to) the BGE charcoal... check out the naked whiz's site. he compares a…
  • Took me a couple times (but even my mistakes were good), but I got some wings out of mine... but those look darn good... I just kept mine simple.. BBR on the wings, cooked, and inhaled...

  • Just because of this, Walmart is going to pull from other stores to ship to your store thinking there is going to be a run on RO...
  • I doubt that... Walmart will carry something if even one person wants it... they'll sell you anything. There is a special on CNBC a while back that showed how they manage their inventory... if one store isn't selling enough and another store is sel…
  • Come to NC... They'll fry anything... Especially in October for the state fair... When in doubt.. Fry it...... :woohoo:
  • Could you post a pic? Think I'm leaning towards the ar rig combo with the sliding tray. Has anyone used this? I really want the spider and this comes with it. I hate not being able to make up my mind!

  • Do you just set the ar in there with a grate in the bottom level and pull the whole thing up when you take out turkey? I do plan on smoking a turkey this year.

  • You'll figure it out... you're on track.. took me 4 or 5 times to figure out how to hold the higher temps, but i did it.. lower temps i'm still messing with but it's coming along. I use an electric starter.
  • Chicken Breasts and some Burgers. did a Boston Butt a week later and steaks several times... just wander through the market and pick out whatever strikes ya. there are no bad choices.
  • Steaks are a staple in this house... we'll probably do a few rib eyes this weekend. Not sure... I'm dieing to just get out there now and throw a pizza on.. that is probably my next attempt.. though i don't have a pizza stone.. Can anyone say where …
  • Hey RE, A Cast Iron grid is my next purchase.. I have a plate setter... I'm also contemplating the Adjustable Rig from ceramicgrillstore. sooner or later I'll need shed to hold all the Eggcesories!

  • Gorgeous... Simply Gorgeous... Makes me want to sear a Rib Eye and then bust out some marshmallows for S'mores..
  • Dude you gotta chill... I've had my egg for 2 weeks and I had another smoker for a year that i was well versed at (not at first since there was a learning curve). There is a learning curve with the egg also (I'm still trying to figure out how to ke…
  • Electric Starter, more lump, and Wood Chunks (or Chips). For the Lump I'd say to look for the Royal Oak at Walmart (same stuff as BGE). Check out the nakedwhiz site... he has a ton of reviews on different lump.
  • If having clogged holes stops you from getting higher temperatures, will it also affect the egg from holding a temp of around 250-275* for smoking a butt or brisket? I had trouble holding a temp after about 6 or 7 hours this weekend. I would get i…
  • Walmart has a brand from Royal Oak (same as Green Egg, just not the Green Egg name). I get mine from Lowes Hardware most recently when i was in there for something else, saw it, and grabbed a bag..
  • I got mine at the local BJ's wholesale here in Raleigh, NC. It was a single 8lb pork butt... was about $8 or $9.. Local Grocery stores should have it also... especially if you are in the South as it's pretty much a staple year round here.
