Paper towels with a little oil or bacon grease is the way to go.

Took the bands off and straightened the left side hinge. Seems to have worked but I think the metal is weak now. Time for a new band and hinge I think. Thanks All for the help!!!

not enuf. I think one of the hinge parts is bent. Not a clue how that could happen.

Still fighting with the alignment. Followed the video instructions and still out. I love my egg but almost ready to tip it over. Missed 2 cooks and going into a 4 day weekend and I can't cook! GRRRRR!

I don,t think anything is bent. Lot's of bolt's and I think something just shifted. Was just about to smoke some pork sideribs. Thanks for the advice!

I tried the propane burner but it goes out in cold temps when I turn the bottle upside down.
