  • I ordered from my BGE dealer in canada, who ordered it from his BGE distributor...
  • Hi, I'm in QC, but I would certainly do 2 pizzas at the same time... It's great when you have lots of people around! Tx.
  • Please, help. I'm still new at this stuff, even though I already qualify as an "Expert egger" What is TJV? Thanks!
  • That's a very inspiring post...

  • I call them "European" because I use a huge Italian sausage, and instead of cutting the bread to open it to put the sausage in, I make a hole on the top, pour in my Dijon mustard and insert the sausage in the whole. The first time I had those was…
  • This looks incredibly good. Thanks for sharing!
  • I guess it's cultural here, but we never had any fake maple syrup in the house, and I can't remember ever tasting it except, maybe, in a restaurant once. Definetly, the real thing.

  • Oooh... excuse my French, one again! I didn't catch what you meant by "lip", until I started studying the picture with your comment... Even though I'm a translator, sometimes I need to do more research to discover the true meaning of things... :l…
  • Problem is I'm in Canada, and here, instead of being sent a nice Nomex, I got berated for not waiting long enough to cook at high temperatures... Very nicely berated, mind you, and very politely, but nevertheless, I wasn't offered a new ga…
  • As I said a bit above, the problem doesn't seem to be with the bands. We played with those for almost an hour, and when all was tight and good looking... opening and closing the lid twice misaligned everything again. :( We called it a night now, …
  • Thanks Frank, but unfortunately I have a large, and the hinge doesn't look like that at all... And it is not the band, finally. It really is the hinge. The band is perfecly fit, and if we open the lid, close it, open it and close it again, the mi…
  • Oh, and if anyone can point me to a place where I can buy a Nomex gasket without paying over 20$ in shipping fees... let me know!
  • We've been checkint it out for a while, now, and the bands don't seem to be the problem. It looks as if the hinge is askew... The fiance thinks he has figured out, though. He always figures it out. Which is why I'll always love him.
  • It's not the Nomex gasket, but the BGE one. It doesn't really matter, anyway. The result is the same.
  • Yes... will ask the fiance to try.
  • Really? It says nothing about that? She let me to believe it actually did, and since I had not caught that, I didn't argue... Had I been smarter, I would have argued that since their instructions were in English only, it was all their fault (t…
  • Yeah, but once I light it up, it's unavoidable, the rim will get dirty again, and I will have to clean it up once more... I'm too lazy for that.
  • I used acetone, but I didn't remove the lid. I did it with a rag, wearing surgical gloves. It went fine. The egg is happy.
  • Oh, I talked to BGE Canada all right! They berated me for cooking up too high too fast! Anyway, my dealer gave me a gasket for free, without a question.
  • I am also fairly new to the egg, so I cannot really answer your question on accessories, but I CAN answer your question "Did I join a cult?" After only a week with my very own gros oeuf vert, I can say that, YES, you have.
  • That's cool. I had to start making them myself, because what we get here is very bland... Sort of "winter" tortillas, you know what I mean?

  • Oh, I knew someone would say that! And I would do so, too, but the fiance is very keen of having the egg look like new. Enough already that I have completely blackened the interior (I had a burping problem - there, I admitted it! )
  • Well, that's our neighbourhing town. A very uppity kind of people. My town is more of a mix and match of all kinds of people - strike that, the last of the Hell's Angels got busted last year (no kidding). At any rate, I feel my town is more down …

  • I'm on the South shore of Montreal, actually. And I have exchanged a few mails with Maxim when I first started inquiring about the BGE. I think we live in the same area. Unfortunately, I will have to stop my cooking over the week-end, as my fian…
  • Hi, I'm in the same boat (except my egg didn't close shut), and here is what Debbie, the nice lady from BGE Canada, sent me yesterday: 1. Remove the dome from the egg to provide easy access to the gasket on both the top and bottom. 2. …
  • Isn't there an emoticon that allows to express "drooling"?

  • This looks so delicious. I wish I could get those kinds of supplies here... Scrumptious.
