I've never had that problem with any of my eggs, but did notice a lot of the eggs at OKC Eggfest had that problem. They were falling off all over the place! Temp solution there was a little duct tape wrapped around the top under the daisywheel.
There is one just down the road from us in The Woodlands Mall (Houston area). I have spent more than I care to think about there. Everything in the store is available for tasting if you ask. Its all GOOD!
Here is the way I always do it. I've modified a Cooks Illustrated recipe a bit and get raves every time. The cooking time seems insane but it it really works (it took me several times to muster up the courage to cook it that long!).
When we cooked this at the Texas fest I had already done three cooks with wood chunks so I added a bit more coal and let the egg burn off for about an hour before baking the cake.
