We hope you all got to celebrate those tasty food holidays last week, we sure enjoyed them! We are even more excited about the beginning of fall, for so many reasons, but mainly for experiencing the cool, crisp air while being outside cooking up the best recipes the season has to offer. We especially love these Beer Pork Tenderloin and Ground Beef Acorn Squash recipes! Fall is upon us, and it's a great time for getting out to one of the many #EGGfests around the country - see a list here

  • Oooooooh, good idea!!! That's what I love about y'all. And I wasn't worried. Every time, just before I worry, I crack open a beer. Cures worrying.
  • Surprised? The only surprise is that I musta passed a brain stone when I actually thought "Hey... the ET-73 was a complete piece of kaka, I'll bet the ET-732 is perfect!" I bought it because I want to monitor temp remotely and I just can't get pa…
  • But everything was cooking twice as fast! :-) I'm gonna go the return route. Just thought if it was something easy, like push this button twice and tuck it under your pillow for an hour, I'd do that. I bought it from Yard and Pool online.
  • Success! With a small asterisk (and no pics... we have 3 ft of snow on the ground, I was cooking in a thunderstorm complete with lightning, and then there's the asterisk)... I combined a lot of suggestions. I did a light marinade (maybe 2 cups…
  • The lamb goes down on Saturday night. I've never posted pics... I think I need to set up Photobucket (or sumthin'). But I'll do my best. Thanks again!
  • Thanks to everyone. I'm ready to rock and roll.
  • Y'know, maybe I asked the wrong question. I have two issues, neither or which requires a Stoker/CyberQ (but might be solved with a new ET-732)... There are times when I have some trouble controlling temp and when I use high heat, once I go pas…
  • The little green eggs in the corner of the post say you're an expert! Good enough for me. Thanks for the suggestions and I'll try again.
  • Well... woke up this morning and it's done. Looks and tastes great. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
  • A few folks have mentioned that the 195 degrees refers to the internal temp of the butt. I understand that. But that also is the dome temp that Elder Ward recommends. Here's what his recipe says, "You're working way to hard, sit down and stare at…
  • Well, that got MY butt moving. I was half-thinking... what could possibly go wrong leaving the butt to marinate in it's own juices with a drip pan? PORK FAT TAFFY! So I improvised. I had the butts resting in one of those disposable aluminum…

  • It's my new favorite place and you're my new best friend
  • The only "problem" I have with Cowboy is that it seems to burn fast. I'm used to WG which seems to last a lot longer. The plus side of Cowboy is that it lights quickly. WG takes forever. I like to cook some things at 400-425 and it can take 45 mins …
  • Already been to the big boxes and called a bunch of hardware stores. They all carry Cowboy if they carry anything. Also have a call into RO in GA. I'm gonna ask them who sells it up here. But I did drive to Stoneham and got a bag of RO. So, I'm good…
  • Thanks, Bob. I went to Rounds... actually met Mr. Round... there's gotta be a joke in there somewhere... and got the last bag of RO. Tonight I'm doing an Elder Ward pork butt. We'll see how that RO does. Thanks
  • I'm about 30 mins from Leominster, but I am going to Lowell in a few days and that's a hop/skip/jump. Is there a place in Leominster?
  • Yo Patty, This sounds cool, but... I don't have a business card? I'm just kind of a regular guy. Do you go there? On their website they say they want to see a resellers license, etc. Thanks
  • I agree with other posts, and when it's happened to me it's been restricted airflow either because the grate has been clogged or because the lump is full of small pieces which prevent air getting through the load. I also did have one bad bag of lump…
  • I don't think it's worth $80. If you're a little patient, I think one will show up on ebay. Also, be sure it's 110v. The guy I bought it from is called depotvalue. The listing said that the unit was good for parts and untested. I emailed him and he …
  • Hi Angie, I've read through this thread and the advice has been great... but all these guys have failed to ask the single most important question of all, so I will... Will you marry ME?
  • Thanks to all for suggestions. I had to leave to finish cooking. It took forever, but it was spatchcocked chicken and roasted veggies which were egg-cellent. I've always been good about keeping the egg clean and aligned. I always start with the b…
  • Wait... I was feeling good about my bargain. Now I'm feeling bad. I'm kidding... I remember your original post about it... thanks for the tip. I had actually called my "local" store and they didn't have it and didn't mention the "other store" thi…
  • Y'all have ruined my day! I just googled farmed salmon and, well, not any more. I guess I'll just have to pony up the dough for the real deal. Anyone wanna send me some money?
  • I own it only in the sense that I ordered it an hour ago when I saw it online. Haven't received it yet. I wondered about the picture, too. I'm expecting the one that looks like stainless. If I get the other one, I'll return it. No idea why there are…
  • Maybe I should have looked at your post before surfing and finding the same thing a half hour later... LOL. It looks like a good deal. Thanks
  • That rack sure looks bulletproof. But it's a little too rich for my blood. As luck would have it, I did a little surfing and came up with this from, of all places, Williams-Sonoma... definitely the last place in the universe I expected to find an…
  • I actually have a cordless phone with a headset and TWO mute buttons (just in case). The problem was that the call was with my boss and a couple of VPs. Even if I could have stepped away from my desk, I had to pay attention and certainly couldn't ha…
  • That's actually what I was thinking (I'm a cock-eyed optimist in real life). It seemed as if it was on its way to a bad dream, but it turned out fine. I always thought it would taste OK... I just thought it would be like shoe leather since it got hi…
  • Appreciate the recipes. We definitely have the rice thang down. For what it's worth, we bought a Zojirushi rice cooker (NS-PC18) years ago and it cranks out flawless rice every time with one button. We use many varieties of rice including Japanes…
