  • I use to cook my brisket to 195 and it was not tender enough for me. Now I take the brisket to 205 and before I close the foil, I add some of my favorite liquid each time and comes out just right. Let it rest for about 40 minutes and it will cut lik…
  • I use that SC all the time. Get you a thermometer and stick it in the breast meat. Don't let it touch the bone. Run it till the chicken gets to about 165 and start checking it. check to make sure the juices run clear... NOT RED.. It will be done.
  • I would wrap it right now and take it to 205 in the foil. Put it on the foil, add some apple juice, wrap, and let it go to 205. It will be tender then.
  • I have a stoker and it has worked perfectly thus far. From what you said in your post, you may have a bad unit. I would call John on Monday. Great customer service. He will take care of you!
  • Get you a propane torch... It works better and faster.
  • also make sure the RAMP OFF MODE IS OFF!!!. When it comes from the factory, this is on by default. Will cause you some problems.
  • Great lookin chicken.. Did you make that sauce yourself or was that store bought. I never can get my sauce like that.
  • Rod, Where did you purchse those ribs from? They look like they have a wide bone to them? I mean are they like Smithfield Ribs? They look great
  • You said you used the platesetter.... Did you have a drip pan inside filled with water or just the platesetter by itself? Using a drip pan with liquid in it will require you to burn more fuel in it naturally. The pan with the water inside acts as a …

  • I did not find the rub salty at all. It had more of a sweet taste than anything. I will see if they have it on the website.
  • you need to get the electric starter for the BGE. You don't need to use anything else NOT EVEN PAPER. Just stick in in the egg, poor some lump over it, plug it up, let it stay in there for 5 minutes. pull it out and you will be ready to go.

  • Thanks guys. I see that some of you prefer to spatchcock chicken over beer can chicken on the BGE. Any reason why. I was under the impression that BC chicken was more tender than SC chicken. After cooking regular chicken on the BGE last night, I won…
