In case you’re willing to share and want to please a crowd, we recommend warm Margherita Pizza, FGL’s Lemon Pepper Wings or our favorite, S’mores in a Cone!

  • Brokersmoker - you just posted how I light mine. Works good for me. :)
  • I have the XL and love it. I can slow cook for 24 to 28 hrs and still have lump left. Also, it can hold a lot of ash before you have to clean it out, nice. Oh did I say - I have a Medium! I love it also. Most people are happy with what they have. Th…
  • I have a XL & MED. I love my medium. If I had a small I bet I would love it too!!
  • Mine always does that on low & slow cooks. I never open the lid for hours at a time. I guess the moisture has to go somewhere. I keep my fan turned up a just little. No problem here!
  • I have a XL and a medium, just love this combo. Got the XL 3 years ago and the medium this last year. I use both almost every week. Sometimes I have them both smoking at the same time. Any egg is better than no egg!
  • I can get Ozark Oak here in Oklahoma City at Crest Foods for like $4.95 a 10lb bag. It's great stuff, so you might look around besides just Wal-Mart.
  • Great view, but I would like to see a better "view" of your table as I am going to build one this summer for a XL & medium. Pat
  • I have an XL and now a Medium. I have had the XL for a year & a half and not one person in my family or my neighbors complained about it being to big!! Last month I cooked for a 57 person birthday party using the XL only. Two turkeys fol…
  • I'm getting a medium demo on Sat (OKC eggfest). I have had an XL for about 18 months. If you ask me in a week or two I'll tell you to get a medium :woohoo: But I would think you will be happy with either! ;)
  • I'm not real new (about 16 months) but what a great resource in one spot. Thanks :) Pat
  • I'd say do it Fidel's way. Then I'll be there to sample the finished product. ;) I'm looking forward to some good "egg eats" come Sat.:cheer:
  • You will love your DigQII. I can sleep all night!

  • 800 - Now that would ruin your day! I'll have to remember that one. ;)
  • When I first got my egg, I made Banana Foster. Only problem was I had added a couple chunks of hickory wood. It was so strong with smoke that no one would eat it!
  • Well Julie, if that doesn't get someone to buy an egg, what would??!!! :woohoo:
  • I 3rd that! A photo is worth a 1000 words. I would like to make an adjustment to my bracket. As I am putting on a new nomex gasket today. I'm letting it set for a few hours before I fire up the ol'e XL.
  • I'm lucky, probably 3 out of 4 times I can get the little white string to pull off. If not, I just rip it off!!! Now that makes me feel better! Oh, by the way about all I use is Ozark Oak (under $5 here in OKC), they may do a better…
  •  haven't heard that expression " yardbird" since I was a grad assistant football coach in college in the mid 70's. We picked up a kid from Dallas Carter at the airport in OKC and asked if he was hungry. He said yes and we asked wha…
  • That looks good! So much for breakfast - I want lunch!
  • I wonder if they have a concealed weapon permit to move that down the road!
  • Boy Rod, that looks great! Here it is 6:30 in the morning and I want Pizza! :woohoo: Pat OKC
  • As I write this, I am brining baked potatoes for my meal tonight. Can't wait. :P
  • I normally don’t have that much time either. It was just a long weekend and Monday’s cook only lasted 45 minutes. I had to make poppers for my wife’s Bunco group. 12 females can eat a bunch of poppers!
  • I'm lucky :) I can buy a 10# bag of Ozark Oak for $4.37 here in Oklahoma City at Crest Foods! :woohoo:
  • I have an XL and would agree with the above posts. It may use more lump but I don't have anything to compare with. To me it doesn't seem to be too much. I had mine going from 11 am Saturday until 7 pm Sunday. I added about a pound late Sat. night be…
  • I have a XL and I like it. Saturday I cooked 15 lbs of spare ribs for 6.5 hrs then shut it almost all the way down for 6 hrs. At 11 pm I added about a pound of lump and cooked a brisket at 225 for 18 hrs until 5pm Sunday. Then I raised the temp to 3…
  • Whiz, You are right on with food getting to close to the pit probe. I cooked a brisket for 17 hrs yesterday at 225 with no problem. At the end of my cook, I removed the brisket, then put on some hot links and raised the pit temp to 350. After a l…
  • You are going to love your egg! I fired up my XL at 9 pm last night. I had it stable at 225 by 10 pm. Put a 7.5 lb Boston Butt on and checked it at 11pm, still 225. Went to bed, T-storms woke me up at 3:30 (Oklahoma), egg was getting wet so moved it…
  • Hey, what do you want you get a lifetime warranty. But, hand washing is recommended! :S
  • I agree with you Mahi-Mahi, on wife allowing 2 eggs on the patio. :S I like my XL but I can see the point with two eggs. Last week I was searing steaks and wanted to cook some veggies at the same time, a little tuff on one egg.
