thirdeye,
What great timing you have.I smoked 2 butts Wed. and got the ingredients I need yesterday for the beans and planning on cooking them Sunday for a Labor day get together. Here's probably a dumb question, did you cook them on the egg and if…
Revolution,
I've cooked them a couple of times between 380 - 400, raised grate up high in the dome, with just tin foil covering the platesetter. They turn out very moist and the skin is somewhat crisp. It's funny you should post this question now, …
TheStormyDog,
The last time I did pulled pork I sprinkled more rub on after it was pulled and I think I'll keep doing it this way. It gives it more flavor this way.
Sleepy,
Had the same problem with my first pizza. Tried the parchment paper and it worked like a charm. Pizza slid right off cookie sheet onto the egg and when it was done slid right back onto cookie sheet and the parchment paper came right off.
Spring Chicken,
I'd be glad to, if you tell me how or show me to a place that tells me how. I signed up and used photo bucket like it says on The Naked Whiz website if this helps. I'll go back over there and read the directions again, it might tell…
Essex County,
Don't really know. I found the recipe on a dutch oven web site and that's what they called it. I made a half batch last night so we decided it was a 20 mile stew.
dhuffjr,
I did the recipe above called 40 mile stew, I've done it using charcoal to cook with before, but this was the first time on the egg and it was a lot easier and turned out very good.
EggRacer,
No, no more suggestions, I just pretty much followed his directions. I put Dizzy Dust on them before I cooked them and that's all the prep work I did to them.
EggRacer,
Just got through posting about the pork steaks I did today. Mine were 3/4 thick. Go down to the post from yesterday where I asked the same questions and Thirdeye's comments will walk you through it. Good luck.
thirdeye,
Thanks for the info. I've got some fire bricks that are 4 1/2" so my grate will be a little higher than yours but I don't think that little bit will matter. When you say a small fire do you mean not much lump in there to burn or plenty of…
WessB,
The main reason I asked about those 2 ingredients is because we don't have them here at home and I didn't want to spend the money on something we might not use again. Thanks for the reply.
Richard,
Here's the recipe I use and everyone loves it. I've not done it on the egg yet, I've only done it on my WSM but I will try it on the egg one of these days.[p]http://mywebpages.comcast.net/ktaylor11/kevi.htm
orion11,
I did burgers Friday as my second cook on my lg egg so I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination. I asked the same question a few days ago and got several suggestions you can look through the messages and see them, I think it was las…
