  • Adventures in home brewing and more beer are both good companies
  • vinyl coverings by Mel. Custom made. price equal to stock covers and last a lifetime. I have them for the egg, chiminea, and patio furniture. can not go wrong.
  • the best I have found are custom made by Mel.  The web site is I have had mine for over 10 years and they are still good. cost is no more than stock low quality covers. You will not be disappointed.
  • Dizzy pig is really good. When I found out Dizzy pig made the new BGE lable rubs I tied them. I am going to stick with them they are awsome.
  • I have not been able to post pics, but I have two eggs in one table and Mel made them custum to conform to the eggs. I also have a chiminea that mel made a cover for. I had Mel make another cover that was a drape fit for the egg table that way I did…
  • we all know, they are great
  • I put on a Rutland and left the nomex on my large and the felt on my small and I had no problems.
  • Electric Starter
  • I used way more lump also
  • I had the same trouble with the Temp. Also on my small so much lump fell through the grate that if cut off the air flow. I went back to the stock grate.
  • I did have one. The top of the Chimney was low so unless the wind was just right you did get alot of smoke in your face. It did get blown over by a big wind and it cracked beyond repair. Replaced it with an aluminum chiminea which I am happy with.
  • you can do without the plate setter, but why. I love mine.
  • I agree the Maverick is really good with the two probes
  • I usually use a 100 watt light bulb down the top works in about 5 min.
  • There are other brands made by Royal Oak. I called Royal Oak and they said they all come down the same shoot. GFS is the brand I use. Also Big Green Egg brand. I am sure there are other brands made by Royal Oak. I get 20 lbs of GFS for about $12.00 …

  • Make sure all of the holes in the fire box are clean sometimes they get clogged, also the hole in the grate can be plugged with ash
  • This is the egg that I usually cook pizza so it is the one that I use for the high temp. My first factory gasket lasted 3 years which I think is pretty good. I seem to have a real good fit using the dollar test. If I took the factory gasket off it w…

  • Thanks I will try always be sure to do that. People here are really great Thanks
  • I think that must of been it. I used the last of a bag and it did have alot of dust. I have done that before with no problem but that seems to be right, I just won't do that againg thanks.
  • Lifting the lid I know that happens but never had I had the bottom blow flames like that. I was just wondering if there is something that I did to cause this or does it happen when certain conditions happen
  • Mine has frozen shut many times. 100 watt light bulb through the top works great also.
  • I was thinking of trying to put something in the bottom like maybe J-B weld over the crack and then maybe some grout like in a fireplace but your idea sounds better.
  • I have a concrete patio, but it is in a wood table with a stone under it sitting on the feet.
  • I also have a small but I just hate to trow away what seems to be a perfectly usable egg. I am still using it for the last month even though it is cracked. As far as I know it may of been cracked for a long time, or it may of just happened.
  • There is a dealer located in Westlake, I have never been to their store yet and the one I use is located in Elyria, Capells not sure of the spelling. He usually has good stock or gets items in real fast.
  • I have never put on side tables but have loosened the bolts when installing a new gasket and there was not a problem
  • I have the new one and I like it. Seems to have a good variety. It is really egg specific in it tells you what exact equipment to use and dome temp and time. It is kind of fancy for my taste in the type of cooks.
  • I usually cook chicken at about 350 but most of the time I go indirect
