  • Rascal, Thanks. It turned out well. No Joisey though. I managed to fry my electric starter at the beginning. Will have to get another soon. I think I just used it to death. Cheers.
  • WessB, I've got a 7# turkey breast, Napa Valley Orange Brined that was still cold when I put it on. Dome was 385 when I hosed it with the bird/placesetter, so it is as was said: it'll come back up in time.
  • Jeffersonian, I'm waiting on mine to get back up also. Dome at 400, I put the inverted platesetter in and the temp plunged to about 220. Oh so slow go. Man, I hope it will recover, otherwise it's the oven for sure. Shoulda started earlier!(I say t…
  • thirdeye, will post pics on the next cook, if I can remember.
  • Celtic Wolf, Didn't get to your reply before we put the chomps to it. Next time I'll separate them, like you said. Wound up at 19 hrs on the egg. It was a fine cook and quite tender. I'm a happy egger. Thanks CW and thirdeye for your replys.
  • Al, I also roast my own, but not on my BGE. The motion factor mentioned above is the main reason I haven't tried it. Here is a link to a site that has some interesting homemade roasters.[p]regar…
  • Hammer, ABT's followed by direct Egged boneless chicken breast marinated in teriyaki/ginger solution, 'tater salad, peas, and rolls. Not bad, really.
  • Bama Egger, Getting hooked up with a BGE, eh? Your life expectancy is about to drop, due to all the good eats you'll be cooking up. You probably won't need to drive down to Dreamland much any more. Yeah, BGE is that good. Culinary life and footbal…
  • bbqdiva,[p]I have found myself to have become somewhat of a bbq/smoker snob, due entirely to the love affair with my egg. I have all but quit ordering steaks/bbq pork/pizza, etc, at restaurants anymore. To me the dishes I turn out on the egg far tra…
  • BOBF, I can tell you that Conecuh Sausage is my link sausage of choice. I get real antsy when my grocer runs out. They run hot as well as mild. I was raised in the town it is made and know the family well, have eaten a trainload of it. Try it out. …
  • I have a Charmglo Remote that's the bee's knees. You can even clip in on your britches and keep it with you. Range supposedly 100' or so. Can't confirm that. I love it.[p]luke
  • Lovely. But a little stiff, price-wise. I like that more companies seem to be offering accessories targeting BGE owners.[p]Luke
  • Haggis, Thanks for the heads-up on that. Will direct order.[p]Thanks
  • Sundown, DP is high on my list of what to get next. Will scour around here for a store that carries it, or check my Egg dealer, and if not, will order it.[p]Thanks
