  • Pork Butt, That dough looks real good! Is that home built or did you use something store bought? Do you start with the same thickness dough as you would for pizza? I am assuming just spread sauce on dough, top with ingredients, roll, and cook? Y…
  • WessB, Thanks for the heads up. That 90 minute thing was most assuredly a "senior moment", man I've had alot of those lately..........dont ever get old all.

  • thebear, That is a double gas/propane burner unit, it just has the cover in it in the pic. Far right is a separate gas cabinet behind that door for the propane, the other door has two drawers in in for supplies.
  • Memphis, Do you all do these with a direct, raised grid? Looks like from the picture that there is no plate setter involved?
  • michael, Here's mine, if you need anymore info., let me know
  • BabyBoomBBQ , Didnt realize until I got it home that it was "Select Grade", this grocer sells mostly Choice so I didnt look that close. Indirect, with plate setter, dry drip pan, grid on top of plate setter legs, Guru probe at grid level (not close…
  • 2000dawg, As the appointed king of Arizona today I agree, it's 5 o'clock somewhere in the world! Just remember it will be a long day...........
  • AZ Traveler, I put my 11 pounder on yesterday, got it on right at 4 p.m., set up the Guru for 230 grid, and let er fly. Well, about an hour ago, the alarm was going off and meat probe said done. Verified with my Thermapen and, sure nuff, it was at …

  • Chaplain Jim, Welcome home and ditto, thank you for your service and your huge hand in keeping us all free. Give all your cohorts a big thumbs up, thank you, and be safe, from an egger in Phoenix!!
  • AZ Traveler, Me too! Going to put on an 11 pound "packer", I am thinking around 4 p.m. to have it ready tomorrow evening. Any one chiming in, do all these guidelines apply to a large cut also? I tried a point end once that was pretty lean to sta…

  • AZRP, Cool, I will try that method next time. By the way, still humming along out there, 35 degrees short of 200 meat temp., cant wait to peek in there for the first time! Pretty cool, been running errands, hanging ceiling fans, etc., all day and…
  • Haggis, Good deal, I have my very best Thermaworks thermometer now so I can at least be assured of the temp I am checking, love that thing!!
  • Newbs, Orion has been the constellation that has always fasinated me since I was a kid (100 or so years ago now....). Maybe cause it's the easiest to recognize in the night sky.
  • Herm, WOW, I did these last night with turkey thighs and they were fantastic!! I had read the process awhile back and happened to see 4 thighs for sale in my local grocery. The stuffing is amazing and they came out great, definately on my "do agai…

  • darnoc, Man, nice pic!! Pizza for breakfast anyone?
  • The Naked Whiz, Just thought of something, do I sear it on both sides, shut the vents and leave it on the grid? I think I mis-read the answer the first time, no need to take them off and "rest" them and let the Egg cool down?
  • The Naked Whiz, I guess the best timer is the ole thermometer, eh? Never tried resting the steaks like that. Hey, I'm always up for something new. Thanks
