We hope you all got to celebrate those tasty food holidays last week, we sure enjoyed them! We are even more excited about the beginning of fall, for so many reasons, but mainly for experiencing the cool, crisp air while being outside cooking up the best recipes the season has to offer. We especially love these Beer Pork Tenderloin and Ground Beef Acorn Squash recipes! It's time to think about getting out to one of the many #EGGfests around the country - see a list here

  • Happy Anniversary Scott! Sorry I missed you at the PNW EggFest! I literally came down with food poisoning or 24 hour flu the morning of. I was 1/3rd of the way down from Mill Creek, WA and decided to turn around. Hey dining out isn'…
  • You have better luck that I do. My 7 y.o. is a VERY picky eater and hot dogs are one of the few things he'll eat without being forced to. Made him a hot dog once on the BGE and without tasting it, just seeing the grill marks he wouldn't touch it. …
  • My first thought was Cioppino (along with Paella which has already been suggested! Then I checked out your pick again both of those are indeed the serving suggestions on the bag as well. I'm sure you probably know of the local Seattle …
  • I'll almost certainly be there. Heck I may even cook again this year! Jeez can't believe it's coming up so fast.
  • I agree in a large part. We didn't cheer because Hitler was dead. We cheered because the second bloodiest war in U.S. history and the most bloody war world-wide was over. OBL's death doesn't end anything. But still good riddance to bad rubbish.
  • I'm sure Stike would'nt approve. Doesn't look dry-aged even one day. B)
  • Warning this is long and more than you probably want to know about the Cliff Sauce. To the best of my knowledge two restaurants in Seattle serve their Chateaubriand with Cliff Sauce. The would be the Metropolitan Bar and Grill and El G…
  • LOL! In the wintertime here in the PNW I used to have a coat I would wear just for egging. My Ex always said I smelled like a campfire specifically and "that is a good thing" to me!
  • Great question! I'd just bought my first house with my then girlfriend/fiancee. I was WAY into food, and still am today, but hadn't had any sort of BBQ in a while. Passing mention to my manager at the time that I was shopping for a grill (Weber…
  • I've found that women mostly prefer if you try and pronounce their name, correctly or not, rather than perfectly enunciating anothers.
  • You DO realize that most Americans would consider putting a side of beef in the freezer is pretty eccentric as well don't you? ;) Like I said I'm not advocating purchasing this book. And it's really a collection of books. But the guy isn't do…
  • Stike you're evil. Just in the right way.
  • Hey I'm not an elder. Don't have the post count. Just had the worst 2 - 3 years of my life and before that was too busy with work and home to post almost at all. Ironic that I just moved and now can only have my original large in my…
  • Sorry for your loss, I still remember my first pet who was a cat and the best cat I've owned out of five since. He got sick really fast, less than 24 hours from being a slow, old cat to being really sick. I remember coming home during Summer …
  • As someone that has followed this forum for 12 years but have rarely posted in the past several years ... all I have to say is AMAZING. Somehow Stike brought Stump out of his 'hidey hole'. Just reading a new post from Stump was worth the price o…
  • The guy who wrote this book is Nathan Myrhvold, former C.T.O. of Microsoft. He's one of those folks who is a true genious, that word gets thrown around too often like 'epic' does. Nathan tends to find new hobbies and gets engrossed in them and h…
  • There's nothing THAT close to Mountlake Terrace that I'm aware of but there are a few (that'll be more pricey than Walmart probably don't shop there myself for more than the 'usual reasons' people don't. Depending upon where your journe…
  • Couldn't agree more on the Booker Noe's! As MA egger also pointed out very good over crushed ice. My ex, who doesn't normally drink bourbon or any dark liquors, actually would enjoy a glass or two of Booker's with an Arturo Fuente short story fr…
  • At least I got to meet you last year, Willy. I did end up crashing the Eggfest but awfully late due to a work emergency. Weather has been horrible here all Spring and like magic today was sunny and in the low 70's. Really good time for the shor…
  • Jason. As I have a lot of Irish blood I am DEEPLY ... amused!
  • No wasn't your post, Jason. As Max said it was a little over the top and potentially very offensive to many folks regardless of party affiliation.
  • Unfortunately I'm still a smoker. For all the 'pros' you mentioned which aren't logical as you point out. Nicotine is a weird drug as far how it affects people as well. You don't see casual heroin, meth or crack users. I have several friends th…
  • I agree, Max. Thanks WPB! Max you and I posted about the same response within a few minutes of each other (I was first by the way) :P That one woulda gotten ugly. Especially after I looked into the background of the source of the statement.
  • Let me be the first to welcome you! Sheesh. My 'oldest' is now 10-11 years old and I didn't get the middle child until a coupla years ago. Lucky you! You get to start out with two from the beginning. :) FYI good choice on the Large and …
  • Goo-ey! Had a chance to try out the Salmon rub yet? Interested in your thoughts on it when ya do. :)
  • Dude! Thank you so much for the reminder and the pics! It's been 20 years and I totally forgot but I still recall now how great curried chx salad is. Also great to put a little curry powder in the yolk mix on deviled eggs. ;)
  • One bit of advice I'd give is be light, light, light on any wood chips or chunks you add. Seafood sucks the stuff up way more than you'd think. During my learning curve on my first BGE I ruined some pristine diver scallops that were over $20/lb …
  • Man so many Seattle-area folks I didn't know about on the forum! I live just northeast of Lynnwood SW of Snohomish. About 5 miles or so east of the 128th ST exit from I-5.
  • Funny thing is that not too terribly long after my last post last night the computer did in fact konk out. I only had it on because #1 I work in the industry and #2 my last computer had a fan fail without me noticing and it got hot enough to go i…
  • Holy cow not only do we share the same favorite cigar but you're also in the Seattle Area! Yeah it's definately a bit nicer at dusk and not quite as bad today. Unfortunately last night I was stuck inside working by the time it was cooling down. …
