  • If you use just a bit of soaked wood - I used Hickory - just a couple pieces gives it a nice smokey flavor without overpowering it. We are doing it again for Christmas Eve for the family dinner. Can't wait.  Then I'm doing a prime rib for Christmas …
  • Thank You All for your comments and suggestions. I'll give them a try next time. The Salmon did turn out good - just did it much faster so I guess that isn't all bad either.
  • It is wood, but it is 8 feet above the egg so should not be a problem. Why?
  • Thank You All for the comments.
  • I didn't have any issues at all from the airflow. Worked just amazing.
  • It is an XL Egg - then they came out with the XXL right after I got this - wish I had one - we do a lot of entertaining. This is the second time I've done 18 racks at a time.
  • So to answer some of the questions - I live in Spokane, WA. So if anyone is around the area I would welcome you to come over and see it. The regular grill is there ONLY for looks and resale value someday if I ever sell. I doubt it will get used much…
  • We finally finished our outdoor kitchen with BGE built in. I'm so happy with how it turned out. I fixed 18 racks of ribs for the first party - that's a lot of ribs in one XL Egg - I would not recommend it but they still turned out really amazing aft…
  • Ok, to respond to some of the comments. It is an XL BGE - we do  A LOT of entertaining so I need it. There will also be a full gas grill next to it. I have over an acre of lawn around the house so didn't need more here - there is also lawn on each e…
  • This is a picture looking across the yard to the kitchen area. That's a waterfall on the other side. Plus there are two fire pits on different levels. Can't wait for it all to be done and to start getting the landscaping in. Oh, and there is a water…
  • Here is the actual home for the BGE - I'm so excited to see it installed. They ordered the granite countertops today so they will hopefully be installed in about 2 weeks.
  • I do some on weeknights - but weekends I get to really plan the fun big stuff. Just hard when you get home late during the week.
  • Can't wait to try it this weekend !!
  • My stone does have some small raisers to keep it from sitting right on the plate setter but I can see where raising it more could help. I'll try that next time. Thank You.

  • I don't know what happened to the pictures - but here is the link to the recipe. http://www.biggreenegg.com/features/caribbean-chicken-burger/
  • Here is what I used - it was amazing. http://grillgrrrl.com/2013/01/better-than-sex-brisket-recipe/
  • I'm curious why you left the egg sitting up so high?
  • Thank you for the comments - I look forward to seeing your pictures HawkCarl
  • Thank You - Yes, I have the plate setter but wanted to be able to easily take the ribs out of the V and then put them on for a quick sear with the sauce. With the place setter in you have to remove it first.  What would be nice is a foil drip pan th…
  • Someone asked for a picture of my Big Black/Green Egg - here it is.
  • Yes, we could not find high temprature paint in any color other than white or black so she wanted black since that is the color of most grills. It turned out nice though and looks good. I only painted from the bottom rim up since the rest will be hi…
  • Thank You all for your remarks - hopefully this picture will post. I got the Egg to go with a total re landscape and outdoor kitchen we are building this summer. My wife was not happy that it was GREEN since it would not fit with out "color scheme" …
