On the road. Not much else to do in the hotel. Wife ragged on me for polishing off the bottle in short time. It was good though. I think she was disappointed she didn't get to try any. I will definitely be getting a bottle for home.
Usually the Four Roses, both single and small batch. We do partake in the WR Double oaked, Larceny pairs well with bbq, Evan Williams single and WL Weller.
We tend to mix it up a bit. Sometimes a bourbon to start, then switch to beer.
I've been meaning to try the Blantons. I was hoping to pick up a little bottle of it when I was down in Kentucky 3 weeks ago. But, didn't see any. Here in PA only certain liquor stores carry it. I haven't been up by the closet one to me that carries…
Started with a Bookers, now on to Four Roses single barrel.
Good on top of good = great!!!!
Coworker gave me a flask of the Bookers to try. Good stuff. He used to drink Jim Beam Black. …

@DMW, I'm trying to decide if I want to do a brisket in it next year. I used a 40# bag in it for the pig and still had coals left after 10 hrs. As shown in the one pic, I only lit the coals in the center and let it burn out towards the ends.
@DMW, it was a homemade pit. I don't even know what it was in its prior life. They usually cook chicken on it. But the tray was made for a pig as it had a drain built into it.
I was concerned about temp management, but it held temp very well.
I was off the grid this weekend. No cell service at friends cabin.
They picked up a 90# pig for me to cook.

Just got back from KY. We were down from the 22nd to the 26th. 10 hr drive from our house to the B&B we stayed at in Lexington.

Probably 30-40 per week for food. We by all meat bulk. Usually every 3 months stock up. Mostly .99/# roasters, .99-1.29/# shoulders, and 5.99-7.99 steak bulk packs.
We don't mind leftovers and I try to plan meals repurposing the leftovers during the…
Thanks to this thread, and talking to my bro on the subject, ordered a Trayvax Axis in tumbled SS. Will add my own carabiner, $14 for a smaller titanium is overkill. May engrave the cell # on front.
Hopefully this will finally be the end of the build and all the saga that has ensued since. I'll have 7k carrying capacity and only 4k lbs of stuff. And I think I've solved the pin is…
