We’re feeling pretty super, how about you? The big game is fast approaching, and while we love football, we love an excuse to invite people over and cook even more! You too can cook like a champion with recipes from Dr. BBQ’s NFL Gameday Cookbook: Grilled Tuna Sandwiches from Seattle and Baked Brie from New England. Who’s going to win? You’ll have to cook both to find out.

The 17th Annual EGGtoberfest was amazing - here are the highlights Click Here

  • Biggreenpharmacist said: My small makes a lot of ash, but its not really a problem unless I do a long low and slow.  I can usually do higher heat quick cooks (steak, chops, burgers) 4 or 5 times without cleaning it all the way out.  If it get…
  • Fred19Flintstone said: Have you got two front teeth? How about a hippopotamus? The two front teeth are on backorder 'til March 2015.  A hippo won't fit on my patio.  They eat a lot and sh*t a lot too.  I rather invite @badinfulence and …
  • Thanks for all the suggestions! @Hi54putty what swing grates?  All I see are woos, spiders, and normal grates.  (link please!) @Lit adding tongs to the list.(can never have enough of those)  I don't go camping so a Yeti won't do me much good. (...…
  • RRP said: If buying a SmokeWare cap merely to block rain then save yourself a bunch of money and just buy a metal roof vent cap for under $10. Get an 8" one and it will rest over Miss Daisey!   Oh... I guess THAT's off my list now.
  • That's it i need a Joe jr. In red that can be my red headed stepchild. Wait I'm going to sell all 10 of them that will teach them....yeah that's what I will do So I read you post to SHMBO and she said, "you need to stop talking to this guy! He's …
  • I've hear some smalls doesn't get above 400 for indirect cooks. I picked up a used one last month that seems to be in that situation. For grilling or L&S, it's great! It comes to temp pretty quickly too. Maybe its me. I didn't have all fres…
  • I was living on Long Island back then. A co-worker who's always joking around told me the news so I rolled my eyes and kept working. When more and more people were talking outside my office, I closed the door. After an hour, I noticed it was all qui…

  • @BigGreenPackerFan‌ I don't believe that. The vision grills have that ember screen too, right?
  • Fixed. Took the door off and bent it a few times. Figure it was easier making the door fit the frame instead of fixing the frame. Test firing it later today....
  • @GeorgeS‌ I can close the door if I push the upper part of the door from the inside. There's very little space between the metal corner and the ceramic behind it. So hitting it with a piece of wood could crack it. I'm thinking of taking the door of…
  • Nope, no screen for ember protection. I should just unscrew it and bend it to fit, but, I don't want to void the Warranty in case I mess it up or something.
  • @Lit‌, I picked up a KJ jr @ Costco and noticed the bottom vent doesn't close all the way. The door slides stops on flush to the ceramic, but the metal where it stops have a little piece sticking out making a leak. Is your like this? I called KJ a…
  • Picked up at dollar store. Uses 2 AA and lasts 20+ cooks per set of batteries. I only use it for 5 mins until temps get to 400. It'll likely get to 700 but since it's plastic, I didn't want to push it.
  • My heart go out to you, your family, and his family. After my mom passed away, I was in a deep depression for many years. Those were dark times. I slowly came to realize that she wouldn't want me to be live that way. So I moved to Georgia to star…
  • NOOO!!!  DO NOT COPY THE VISION KUB PACKAGING!!!!
  • 9-10 days for me.  I do a big cook on weekends.  Garbage day is Wednesday, so whatever's been there over a week is tossed.
  • You gotta have at least an apple, peach, or pear? Cut it in half and throw it on! Skin side up, direct at 350-400. Flip it over when it starts getting soft and put some butter & brown sugar in there!!!
  • After the thermapen, you'll start stockpiling charcoal... We don't really NEED to do that in GA, but, when this stuff gos on sale...
  • Review is 11 years old, http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumpdatabase/lumpbag24.htm, but, if someone sends the Naked Whiz a bag, he might do an update or something...
  • My local Home Depot only let me get one bag at that price. I'll print out the Tractor Supply ad and try at another store this weekend.
  • Ask him how he takes out a hot plate setter and then try to get him to throw in his welder's gloves. :)
  • My sous chef says she cut the eggplant into thick slices (1/2 to 3/4 inch. Mix a seasoned oil (olive or canola mixed with Italian seasoning and hot pepper flakes). When the grill is ready, brush on the seasoning oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper…
  • I would get the medium ASAP. A medium plate setter is gonna be a lot lighter than an XL plate setter. That first time you forgot to "burp" the egg will only burn the hair off your arm, not your eye brows. Like the other posts says, you can alway…
  • If I need to cook fast, I use my stash of bacon soaked paper towel and stand back.  Ready to cook in 20-30 minutes (depending if direct or indirect).
  • Great idea with the muffin pan! I'll have to try it next time!
  • I like the boneless butts since I rub on the seasoning inside AND outside.  :)
  • For all of you waiting for the MinMax and itching to look at The Joe Jr., here's Costco Kamado Joe schedule...http://www.costco.com/kamado-joe-schedule.html(Wonder if I'll be banned from the forum for this...)
  • Chicken patties for me. Those healthy $*#! have zero fat in them and dries out quickly if you don't keep an eye on them.
