Darrell - hey, I ship to Canada all the time - no problem! Please read the rest of my usual reply:
Since 2002 I have sold <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Rutland gaskets as a not-for profit service to fellow eggers. To date I have sold 942 gaskets to people in 41 states and 9 foreign countries!
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I purchase the gasket on reels which have 157 feet. That way I can sell the length needed for each size egg. As a for instance for an XL egg you need 9 feet or 108 inches of gasket so that you only have 2 butt ends instead of buying 2 Rutland kits from say ACE Hardware or Amazon of only 7 feet (84 inches) and then having 4 butt ends plus throwing away the remaining 5 feet of gasket!
You apply the gasket using an automotive product called Permatex Ultra Copper. It is a high temperature silicone gasket maker which acts as an adhesive to bond the Rutland to your cooker’s ceramic edge. Years later if you wish to remove it it will come off. Most every automotive supply chain store in the US carries the Permatex. In Canada your Canadian Tire store sells it.
Are you familiar with the application process whereby you "bunch" the gasket back into itself thus making it both thicker and wider than the 5/8" so as to cover your entire edge? In doing so you only apply the Rutland on one side only - not both. Here’s the link to a picture of what I mean by “bunching”.
If that link doesn’t work then cut and paste this link:
The total cost for the gasket including the postage shipped to you in Canada is $14US for a large or $16US for an XL.
I'll just need your mailing address and the size of your egg and typically it will go out that same day if not the next day.
After I have confirmed it has been shipped I will give you my address so your check payable in US dollars and the gasket can cross in the mail. It's just that easy! BTW I do take PayPal if that helpd you.
