    Craig,

First, I enjoy your sharing of your cooks here and on FB.

I am asking this because I respect your input. I noticed on your signature that you have several size eggs. My friend FARMERTOM and I just met on the BGE forum and he is even more inexperienced than I !! We found out we live very close.

I have an XL, he has a MED.  He said his fire grate does not fit tightly into the bottom of the fire bowl. He said when he does anything to the existing lump, the grate flips and empties everything down into the ash compartment.   He is going to take pics, but it sounds like something is not fitting properly.  Do you have any ideas?? He will probably start a thread on the forum, but I just couldn't wait to ask someone!!!!  Curiosity kills me !!

We both live a long distance from BGE dealers and I thought I would ask your opinion.

    Thanks,

    Donnie

      Hi Donnie-
Thanks for following! I too have this same problem with my Medium Egg. I have explored a lot of options to correct this problem, but with no success. It seems like there are two problems: A) there isn't a snug fit and B) the grate is so light weight because of it's size that it flips over. I have heard that the Kick Ash Basket Co is working on a Medium prototype. Once this is released, the fire grate could be removed all together. As of now, we are stuck with what we have because the Medium Egg is not a very popular size.

      Hope this helps-

    Big Green Craig,

I'm in Metro Atlanta. Where did you get the Maple lump and the Termpen?
