Some folks had asked to post some photos from Fred's TurkeyFest today.
Unfortunately, I have to fly outta town early tomorrow, and got to Fred's a bit late, and had to leave bit early.
I'm sure I'm missing something, but Spatchcock Turkey, a Cider Turkey in a vertical rack, Turducken (had to leave too early), Turkey Jerkey, Pizza (they had an awesome clay pizza oven fired up, but hadn't put anything in while I was there)...and of course (insert drum roll) MAD MAX and his Turkey methodology!
Max, it was great to finally meet ya!! Too bad I approached you right as you went ont the demonstration.
Another GREAT day at Fred's! Thanks Fred!
If anyone wants me to email them the album I have (it's not great), just let me know.

Thanks Molly!
It was a great day....wish I had more time. I bet there was at least 100 people thru there while I was there. Very cool scene for sure!
Yeah....looking forward to some FL weather, even if it is NORTH Florida weather. Warmer than PA. -
Great photos - thanks for posting. Looks like plenty of really good food and friendship!

Jason, thanks for the pics. I particularly like the 14th pic....Max reminds me of one of my chemistry professors teaching in the laboratory, lol.

Wonderful pictures Jason. Max looks right at home bundled up and cooking and turkey. Love this time of year.

Looks like a good day. I like the town in the back ground. Looks quaint but from the trees and people it looks like winter is almost set in! :pinch:

Who cooked the turkey in Pics 1-3 and what technique/recipe did they use? Great looking color.

Fred always does it right!! Last year I was able to attend Max's demo at Fred's and it was a good time - he does a great job explaining and answering questions one on one.
I knew I was going to be away for the day and was able to deal with it- until this morning, when I saw the pic of the clay pizza oven - that looks awesome and I'm sure the pizza's were tasty.

Thanks Jason for all your effort. Tim

walter (the jersey/pa bge rep) cooked all the birds. .. .that one in the first 3 pics was spatchcocked turkey that fred had set up. ..simply rubbed with olive oil and fred's' turkey rub (which is very good btw) and roasted in direct on grid over plate setter at around 375 - 400 degrees for about 2 hours. .. .the pics are just taken from an odd angle. ..the turkey had excellent moistness and flavor. ..
