Yes boys and girls its time to tick all those Yankies off once again and show'em how the correct Philly Cheese Stake should be!! :woohoo: In all fairness to the Northern brethren the origional idea was good but as with most things needs improvement! More butter and shrimps improve anything so lets do it shall we?!! The raws:
In the low 50's with a lot of wind tonight so I fired the Small and put it at about 175 to warm the bowels and keep the stuff warm as it would cool in a hurry. Preped everything as well to cut down on time.
Some real butter in the skillet and vegs were pre tossed in EVOO and DP's Swamp venium.
Shrimps are the key to a proper Philly!
Next up a couple New York strips. I prefer ribeyes but they were on sale so Strips it is.
Add some Parvalon cheese and nuke for about 30 seconds. Add some guakamolie dip to complete the meal.
In this season of politics with all the hurt feelings and finger pointing Auron and Andy want to know: Why can't we all be friends?

-
Sorry Hoss for the waist of good beef in the broiler!! I know about time restraints. I got to quit playing on the forum and get to bed. Some mandatory safety meeting at 7am on my off day!
-
Lookin good Deane. Lookin very good! :P
-
LOVE that cook! Especially the guac w/a Philly Cheese Steak. And Auron & Andy couldn't be any cuter. Did the butter come from the cows?
-
The beef was leftover Egged steak.Sliced thinly, made an AuJus,dunked the beef in Au Jus just long enough to warm it.Sauteed peppers and onions in a skillet on the stove. The Oven broiler was ONLY used to Toast buttered buns and melt cheeze! Broiled meat??? I was late not HIGH!!!
-
Over the top as usual!!! It should be guacamolly... :whistle

-
Doreen had a pet cow one time. Could pet it all over. She decided she would reach down and milk it. :pinch: Took a few days before she could walk well after that!
-

-
I liked to fainted when JL thought I'd broil MEAT!

Beautiful meal. I know that you were joking when you said shrimps. The word shrimp is plural down SOUTH! It's like the Nawthern folk say PEE-CAN, when they mean pecan like we say it down SOUTH. Anyway, you have made me hungry!! I'll have to fire up the egg and cook some shrimp's..ha
-
JL,
It's a pleasure to know a REAL Southern gent who knows how to make a proper Philly Shrimp and Cheese Steak Sammie :woohoo:
Auron and Andy look like they will be defenders of anything you make in the DP Smoke Shack -
Deane, I suppose if Auron & Andy can coexist, you can put shrimp in your Yankee Cheesesteak.
-
That is a fine lookin blade.
Must be a pleasure to work with.
Great meal. -
You Sir are correct but I still loves me some shrimps!! :P
-
I am sorry to say that it had been almost 6 months since I sharpened it. The VG10 steel holds an edge great but even it looses it after a while. Couple days ago I broke out the water stones and worked it over. Soooo much nicer now! Thanks.
-
After that cow jack kicked her in her thigh there was not a lot of love going around! It was so funny. She told me "look how gentle old Sue is. I want to milk her" She reached down and grabbed a tit (can I say that on the forum?? ) and WHAM Doreen was grabbing her leg and howling like mad woman! I laughed and laughed which really helped her out.
-
That is one inspirational sammich. Sort of a cross between a philly and a fajita .Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
-
this is the 2nd time I've said this today but...
THAT'S how you do it up!context is important -
He musta been nipen at the ol family recipe again. :woohoo:
-
I would have never thought of putting shrimp into a Philly Cheese Sandwhich. Great idea. Good looking animals too. Thanks for sharing.Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney
-
Deane, that pic of the shrimp in the skillet on the egg is a fantastic shot. 'Course all the rest of the grub looks good as usual.
-
i guess its all in the perspective, philly is down south  would be more inclined to chip flakes of hard cheddar off the cabot wheel looks good but lobster is so inexpensive might have to substitute, we dont get fresh shrimp til the winter run. just started cooking the cheese steaks on the egg, thats going to happen alot more now why would anyone use a cheese from a can or even velveeta on a steak  :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
Looks tasty.
Every time I look at your posts, I look for Auron and I think it would be great if my GS Olie could play with him.Rowlett, Texas

Lobster sounds great on a Philly! Would try it my self cept I would hate to thank how much a pound it is around hear. Now gator might work? They sell it on the claw so to speak not far from hear!
-
Wish Olie could play with him as well. Thats one of the problems I seriously have with him is letting him play with other dogs. He is so big and rambunctious that most people will not let theirs play with him loose. :(
