We had Steak Last Night

Cooked some Amana Beef - Bacon Wrapped Top Sirloin last night. I was able to get the fire up to 650. First time ever. In the past I could only reach 550.
I'll attribute the 100 degrees to the new Rutland Gasket I put on 2 weeks ago and my lid seems to sit a little straighter than in the past.

Nothing goes better with steak than fresh homemade horseradish and some fried potatoes.

I would think you have a much hotter fire down on you CI than the 650
THat 650 is going to be up in the dome, down at that level just off the lump maybe 1000?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers. -

Looks like you did a great job on those steaks. The quality of the beef is 90% of the result. Your skill and the cooker are the rest. Tell me some more about Amana Beef. I can spot quality beef because I raise Black Angus cattle. Those steaks look really good.
