I put some ribs on about 1pm. Things looked good - stable temp (or so I thought), a nice smoke.
I sat down on the couch and the next thing I know, I'm sawing logs. I woke up about 2 pm and the egg was at 400 degrees.
The temp couldn't have been that high for too long, the ribs still look good, but I'm sure the temp spike pushed the cook along much quicker than I wanted.
It could have been worse...tomorrow is Cdn Thanksgiving Turkey Day at our house. That would have been a disaster.

note to self - no cat naps while cooking...

I hate when that happens.

So, did you give the end of the rack a twist? Did it come loose?, meaning you've got some tender and maybe not yet dry ribs. If so, eat 'em now!
Otherwise, I'm thinking beans simmered with flash roasted pork may be a good use.
I messed up that way once with some beef short ribs. There were a few bites that were O.K. The rest was some tasty char to scub the digestive system. -
Unable to recover from the turbo ribs...some sections were good but most of them were crap.
Live and learn.

The solution!

That is too bad. :(

Ha Ha - a few gallons of coffee - I'm sure that would work.
But then again, I was a little tired and hung over from some bar hopping the night before. Maybe I shouldn't have done that. Nah, where's the fun in that. Ha! Ha!

Well, today is Turkey day and we have some guests coming over - Let's hope that I can redeem myself today.
Michael -
