Does anyone cook their butts at a higher temp? Say around 300 degrees? I was putting one on this morning and wondered if I cooked it higher than what I normally do (225 degrees), will the results be the same?

ShortRIb, I mostly cook my butts at 250 F dome but, I have cooked butts at 300F dome with eggcelent results. Have a great cook. Tim -
ShortRIb,
See this thread from yesterday on this very subject.

I have done them at 300, but not on purpose. The egg got hot and would not come down. The butts were fine. I have seen people do them at 350 at an eggfest before. I don't know if I would though.

Yep, same result, less time. Sometimes I like to take my time though.

"Exactly the same as Low & Slow", no, however, most folks would be hard pressed to be able to tell the difference. It was just as moist and just as flavorful and a L&S.
I did have to tent with aluminum foil towards the end of the cook to protect the bark.
