Dizzy\'s Red Eye Express - WOWSER!

Of all the Dizzy Pig rubs I think the one that never gets mentioned here is Dizzy's Red Eye Express. It's a coffee-infused rub and for the heck of it one night I tried it on hamburgers and we LOVE IT! I made them again last night and first thing this morning my wife was again raving about them! You gotta try it!

    i use that one all the time. i have all the dp rubs and i run out of that one right after the dizzy dust. i LOVE it.

  • I've only used it on pit beef, and wasn't overly impressed. I'll have to try it on burgers.

    Just had tsunami spin on boneless skinless chicken breast, last night. Made an extra one for lunch today...eating it right now...wonderful.

    It is my rub of choice for fatties, smoked sausages, ABTs, etc. It is also spectacular on lamb.

    I find it goes really well with the flavors of cured meats. I've never tried it on burgers.

    That is funny! I used it for the first time last night on buttrflied pork chops and really liked it. Just a hint of curry flavour in there.

    for some reason the amount of caffeine in that rub doesn't - OTOH a whiff of Red Eye doesn't even smell like coffee, unlike your rub...no offense, Richard!

    I use it on pulled pork. I also smoke with guava wood. It comes out great.

    It's a toss up for us as far as which DP is our favorite....Red Eye Express probably beats out Pineapple Head by a smidgen.. ;)
  • Good to hear that you use it on PP, HungryMan. I just put six butts (47 total raw weight) on the Egg, and two of them got REE on them when I ran out of Dizzy Dust. Tomorrow afternoon will tell the tale.
