Mini or Small for camping?
Large Marge
Posts: 404
Need to hear from the diehards...
Mini or small? Assume dry tent camping, no trailer to pull a ton of gear (or one of those sweet 3 XL rigs-in-a-row I know one of you will post...please do Can you get away with the small or too much to haul? Is the mini too small to cook for more than 1-2 people or can you feed a bunch knowing it takes a bit more time... Thanks...

Hey Joe,a small egg is easy enough to move by yourself, and gives you the option to cook indirect I love my mini, but if I was really tryin to cook for people,I'd get the small
-
small I love my mini and you can do it but sure is easier on the small. and just make a carrying box that flips to a base with the three little feet you are good to go.you will have a lot more options for cooks that way.
with the guts out I can lift it in and out of the truck in the box no problem. -
I'd go with the small Joe, more versatile than the mini. I use the mini mostly for steaks or small meals.

I take them both but if just one, the small
To a friend's camp
At the beach

now that is nice tailgating Frank
-
where did u tell your WIFE you had gone ??? -
Small for sure. I have cooked for 8 people on a small and that would be harder to do on a mini. Now it is not light. I take all the gutts out to move it it then I can move it by my self.

Does the mini fly for the same price as the small?

That's my traveling companion under the tent

Same price Pat
-
my small went camping with me to Stone Mountain park. I chained it to the sorry aced grill that was there for the commoners to use.

Get both! :cheer:
