I've been really wanting to try a Rack of Lamb, one problem.. My wife doesn't like it. So I took advantage when she was out of town babysitting the grandchildren. I used the recipe in the Big Green Egg Cookbook. They were awesome. Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb page 75.
Seasoned & on the Grill
Cut & ready to serve!!!
Served with some asparagus, potatoes & onions. Also a very nice bottle of red. They were delish!!

Capt. Rich, your herb crusted rack of lamb looks perfect!
You remind me of Little Steven.....he cooks lamb for himself when his wife goes out of town, as well, lol. -
domestic lamb or new zealand?
-
Capt. Rich, Good looking lamb. It looks so juicy and tender. :P Tim

Looks great

My wife is not a fan of lamb either, but it is no problem to cook lamb chops for me and a fillet for her.

Rebecca: Interesting.... . I thought Norma was a convert after last years Eggtoberfest. (Steve? What happened? ) I know Reelgem is a converted lamb hater...and has even made racks for herself a few times!

Capt. Rich: Those look great!! A little story for you...it took 6 years before Bubba Tim begrudginly 'allowed' me to make some lamb for him, as he was convinced he despised lamb. I of course chose to re-introduce him to lamb with a rack. He will now eat lamb in any shape or form...racks, legs, burgers, shanks, etc. Have you cooked lamb that was cooked that nicely, and looked that good for the wife??? Perhaps you can change her opinion of lamb!?? Those really look great! Nicely done.

New Zealand at Costco's

It was really good. Pretty proud of the way it turned out.

LC. That was my first try on the Egg. I think she would like it, especially with the red wine??

You certainly have NOthing to lose... The night I made the much anticipated lamb for Tim, I made sure I had a back-up, and promised him that if he didn't like it, I would cook him something else. (In this case it was a ribeye, which is his fave...but that waited till another day.) So give it a try!! She may only have memories of lamb like shoe soles like our mothers used to make when everything was cooked to 180* or so. I look forward to hearing your adventure should you take the challenge.

LC is known for waving her little lamb lollies over peoples heads and they convert just from the smell! the ones at the mini fest were over the top as always LC
