pizza stone

i have a pizza stone that fits in the small with about 3/8in. air gap. will that work ok or do i need a little more gap. thanks for the help.

Don't quote me on this but I believe that most stone manufacturer's recommend a minimum of 1". I think that is what mine said. It will still work you just won't have a good air flow/circulation.
Edit-if you can raise it above the felt line, you'll be in better shape.

When measuring your home oven, allow approximately a one inch opening on each side of the stone for proper air movement.
It would be the same for the egg. Approx 1" -
The BGE platesetter leaves a 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" gap in the small egg.....3/8 will definately limit your airflow, and in turn limit you max temp..

Just testing the waters so to speak....we actually didn't go out on the beach to watch the actual boat burning, but we did watch a pretty good fireworks display...

That's probably a bit tight. I use a 12" stone in my small Egg.The Naked Whiz
