Hey all, just did a burn off to de-crud my lg and noticed a pretty big gap between the cap and base on the left side only, the right is nice and tight. I made the top band loose but it doesnt matter, gap remains.

Please send me your suggestions as i am at a loss, and of course i have guests coming over to eat in a few hours.

Thanks for the help!!

The DudeThis is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

Walter SobchakNihilists! *uck me. I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

Check your gasket, as Danman said, then loosen both bands, get the dome like you want it and retighten the bands. as you tighten the bands, make sure they stay even all around.

Gasket survived, no problem there. Even with the band loose the lid won't sit on it, and i checked gaskets for any obstructions and i can't find any. Very frustrating!:angry::angry:

I don't understand it, but i re-did everything and got the lid to sit real nice. Might have been a combination of pressure and my #1 culprit - stupidity.

Thanks for responding so quickly guys! :woohoo:

Flash light theory--take it apart, put it back together, see if it works, repeat as needed.

If the Egg was not at outside temp while you were doing this, you'll need to recheck when it cools... be sure the bands are tight at outside temp - NOT when Egg is cooling down..
