same thing happened to me on my first one, then the temp dropped and stayed in that collagen to gelatin zone for three hrs-ish before it started to climb again.

Those look really good from here.
That's a cool set-up... my Eggs have a hot spot back by the hinge, but you could simply rotate the entire cooking grate 90° a couple of times during the cook to insure even doneness.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
guess I'll put them in a holding pattern until 6pm.....
They may not be "competition perfect" so I'll just serve my friends lots of wine and they'll never notice -
