First off, hello everyone. I registered here a few weeks ago when I purchased my Lg BGE, and I am enjoying reading all the posts here. I plan to attempt some pizzas this weekend, hopefully they will turn out. I have my plate setter and pizza peel, I still need to order a proper stone so I will be using tiles this weekend until it arrives. So do you have any advice for a first timer regarding technique, temp, time??

We've had our BGE 3 days and made our first pizza last night. Having a pizza peel puts you ahead of the game, our only challenge was not having one to use (using lots of cornmeal saved our marriage).
In the meantime, my advise to you is get BGE hot (we heated ours to 600 but oven was 525ish when we closed the lid on pizza).
While BGE was heating up we grilled some onions, garlic, red bell peppers and mushrooms on a griddle. Put a very light layer of pizza sauce on the dough, added the grilled veggies, light dusting of several different kinds of cheese and garnished with basil leaves. Viola, Nothin' to it but Goodness!
Hope you have as much fun as we did!

A good place to start is the NakedWhiz Pizza page; it will explain enough to get you started.

The no-knead pizza dough is great and nearly fool proof. Check Sullivan Street Bakery and no-knead pizza dough on Google. We had a great one last night.

I prefer using pizza screens. IMO, easier to make the pizza on the screen then pop it in the egg when ready.
