Chocolate Covered Bacon

California's oldest seaside amusement park is no stranger to greasy grub. Today, however, the traditional staple of this West Coast walkway—garlic fries—has a little competition: chocolate-covered pieces of hickory-smoked bacon! Although it’s a new addition to the menu at Marini's, a local sweet shop started by Joseph Marini in 1915, the bacon was an immediate hit. The company also makes saltwater taffy, caramels and numerous other chocolate-dipped treats, but its bacon has become a boardwalk attraction all its own.

Kim made some last year. He used maple bacon and chocolate candy quik. It was really tasty...
-
Great idea! LONEY Niblets dipped in chocolate. Better than chocolate dipped bumble bees, grass hoppers or scorpions.

Fat free bacon of fat free chocolate???
-
 I was how long before you made that suggestion!!!
-
I gotta know so I can add to my waist line...how is it made?
-
Well, I guess if you have maple bacon, chocolate bacon is only the next step...
 -
I fried the bacon and let it cool. I melted the chocolate candi quik. I broke the pieces of bacon in half and dipped half of the half in the chocolate. I placed the pieces on wax paper and put in the fridge for 30 minutes to harden. It really was very good. the maple bacon set it off very nicely.

Had to run it by the court to make sure we had a consensus.

My wife and I eat the small grass hoppers that are deep fried in Thailand, they really are tasty. She also eats the larger "beetle" but she picks through them to make sure they have eggs inside, apparently tastier. I tried one after several beers and came to the conclusion that there isn't enough beer in Thailand to get me to eat another.
