I was thinking about doing some stir fry in a wok. Do I need a spider or is there a way you do it without one. Thanks

You can use a spider, depending on size of wok set it directly on the coals, remove the firering and do same or place on grate and cook. Be careful if you are using more that a few table spoons of oil as it may spill. Also, if using chili oil, DO NOT place in hot wok first as the caspium (sp) in the oil will flash and give you a very bad eye burn aka mace.

or chili flakes...it will burn your throat and make you feel like you are going to choke to death... :(
but I do love to stir fry on the BGE.. -
I have a flat bottomed wok that I just put directly on the grate.
Sure I'd rather use a spider if I had one but this has worked for me.Knoxville, TN
