Looking for a recipe for a rub close to Butt Rub

I have gone through many bottles of Bad Byron's Butt rub and really think it's the best rub I have found for pulled pork. Does anyone have a recipe for a rub that they think is close to this one. It's hard for me to get locally. Have to mail order it or head to "Old Town Spring" to pick it up.

I use Tony Catcheries sometimes, it is a little more spicy than Byrons but the bark will have some bite. I use Tony's about half the time.

I love the dizzy pig stuff, but if you're looking to make your own I hear good things about Dr. BBQ's books.

How about just asking your egg guy to stock it? Or any BBQ supply place to stock it.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

I think what sets Byron's apart from the others is the Chipotle powder. If you can obtain some of that (and it is not exactly cheap) you can probably doctor any good rub recipe for the heat you crave.
A quick seach yields an online source for the chipotle powder:

A good starting point for a rub would be Harry Soo's basic "SYD All Purpose Rub":

You might try omitting the Cayenne (and maybe half of the paprika) and adding Chipotle to taste. Note that Harry's rub has sugar in it, but Byron's does not. I personally think that some sugar in the rub makes a better bark, but you can omit the sugar if you like...

Good idea, I will get a gallon. You are probably right that I can't make it as cheap. I can seperate it in pint sized bags and vacume seal most of it and use it as I need it. Appreciate your suggestion.
