Pizza party madness, but had hinge issues.

I did a big pizza party about three weeks ago right before I left for Costa Rica for work. Went great for the first 3 pies, but by the time I got to the fourth I couldn't close or raise the dome on the egg. The hinges locked up.
I also noticed that the metal ring around the top dome was loose. Any ideas on how I can do a long high temp cook without incurring these type of problems in the future?
Anyways on to the pics.
Made my own homemade sauce with San Marzano tomatoes, tomato paste, fresh garlic fried in olive oil and some store bought sauce.
Made my own toppings as well. Bacon, rosemary meatballs fried in bacon fat, bratwurst balls.
Pizza station.
One of the Zas, yes that is corn. Try it, its a great topping.
Had to chase the misquitos away somehow.
Hinge problems was the only downer to the whole night.

you should tighten the nuts until the bolts bend. Seriously - BGE recommends it. Then as a added trick run another nut up behind each of those. Double nutting will secure you for a long time to come, but bend those bolts!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Great looking pizza.
As RRP said make sure to tighten the bolts that hold your upper and lower bands. One for the dome and one for the base. These are the only two bands that "must" be cranked hard. Again as RRP said "bend them".
Do not crank the rest of your of your bolts on your "XL" hinge. In the future please let us know you have the XL Egg as it differs from the others.
See the link from a few days ago for your other problem with your hinge. TJV even posted photo of problem area under my post. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, seems to be some confusing hinge tightening remarks though in the thread. So I tighten the bolts that hold the bands on the the dome and base. What do I do with the bolts on the hinge? Leave them loose or tighten them.
