I'm in. I always looked at Mike as an icon in the BGE world and having had the chance to meet and chat with him it was validated. Ribs it is on Saturday.

FaithHappily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

there will be a docked post tomorrow afternoon for pictures and remembrances of mike beginning saturday morning ,, an online forum service if you will.
sunday morning i plan to start a thread for for pics of the 'memorial cooks' and ask that those that post put the number of racks they cooked in the subject line so we can have a total number of racks cooked in his honor.

i think anything short of an official picture post would be a diservice.
with the default 3 day rule, sunday would be a good day to do it. i may cook mine saturday, but i'll hold off on posting pictures until we get an offical thread. -

i'm in for sunday. Demo at the egg dealer sat morning followed by the taste of Buffalo food fest saturday (fat bob's mac and cheese!).
Picked up the ribs today, have to get the dizzy pig rubs at the demo saturday. -

Jason, here is Mikes scampi recipe
Shrimp, Scampi, Car Wash Mike, Platter
1
Those are cooked a sizzling platter like you would find in a steak house.

I put a thin layer of EVOO on the platter.

Peeled shrimp.

I melt a garlic/butter paste and pour over the shrimp. Enough to cover the bottom of the plate. The shrimp has something to cook in.

Cap full of a sweet red wine

Juice of 1/2 medium lemon.

S/P to taste.

Top with parsley.

Cook Direct at 400 until done. Pink.

Funny it was sent to me by both Mike and Bente in August of last year in the living cookbook format. Mike did not have living cookbook so my guess is he called Terry to send it to him so he could send it to me. Mike was that kind of guy, if he called you a friend it wasn't just lip service -

I'm in also. Less than 2 months with my Egg, I've not had any opportunity to meet anyone in person yet.
In my newb state, I can very easily see the heartfelt impressions the man made to so many. I think this is a wonderful tribute to a person who helped countless numbers, and I'm looking forward to sharing his glory.
