HELP with BUTT

Eggheads. I did a butt last night and started at 11. It is pretty much done now. Some parts are over 200 and some are a touch under, which is fine as it can rise while it rests. My issue being this. Normally I get them done and timed to be within an hour or 3 of meal time. This one is done a bit early. It is about 1pm here and we won't be eating until around 6-6:30. I wrap my butts in foil, then wrap in a towel and throw in a cooler to rest.

How long can I get away with that? Is there anything else I can do? CAn I put it in the oven at 200 wrapped in foil? Any issues to drying out?

Thanks for your help.

BTW-I threw some ribs on with the butt so that is why I wasn't able to lower my temp to prolong the cook for the butt. I need the ribs to get cooked. LOL.

You will be fine. Pack some towels on top and they will still be hot.

Really! Great. I have wrapped and pulled after 3 hours before and they were still hot as can be, but I wasn't sure if 4-5 hours was pushing it. Don't want to make anyone sick. I've still got it on the EGG and will take it off in a few minutes. Just trying to maximize my time.

    Thanks.

    Andrew,

What Molly said. I might preheat the cooler with boiling water as well.

You know it's a short drive. Haha. I'm in Holly Springs and plan on walking two doors down to a friend's house for a 4th get-together. I'm bringing MEAT. Just want it to be perfect. I already know I'm going to show up the host with BGE cooked deliciousness. ;)

I should have took pics. It's already in the cooler. I do have a couple of racks (cut in half) on the EGG now. Going to foil them in about 1/2 hour or so. They are looking good. Used Butt Rub on them. Used Dizzy Pig on my BUTT. Now to determine what sauce to use for the last stage.....So many questions, all with tasty answers.
