Good morning, all,[p] Well, I have been on a 3 month long search for the best BBQ sauce.
I have narrowed the uses down to two different types to use. I.) A rib and chicken sauce. I prefer a sweet honey sauce. I have tried about 30 different sauces. So far I prefer a cattlemans off the shelf with a few special touches added. 2.) A sauce for pulled pork. I perfer a vineagar sauce with a mustard twang. I have tried about 20 of these. I have not found a really good one yet.
If any of you Eggers have come across a really great BBQ sauce I would love to hear about it or given a receipe for it. I have created a few of my own and tried alot from cookbooks but to no avail. PLEASE HELP>[p]

Louisiana Redneck, my favorite sauce is the one that you make yourself:- thanks to "Chef and the Fat Man" [p]Chef and the Fat Man Mustard BBQ Sauce
Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup yellow mustard
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cayenne (more if you want a better kick)
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together and simmer over a low heat for 30 minutes. This should make enough for a normal
(cheap plastic squeeze bottle and a 1/3rd). [p]

Louisiana Redneck,[p]I have found that sweet baby ray's regular and honey BBQ is awesome and available at my superwalmart. [p]it's also only about a buck and a half a bottle.[p]
-
Louisiana Redneck, if you like the vinegar based sauce for that Carolina pulled pork flavor, I have found that Scotts barbeque sauce is MY TEE fine. You can order it online at scottsbarbecuesauce.com. On the bottle it says (It's the best ye ever tasted).
-
Louisiana Redneck,[p]For the pork, I love Stonewall Kitchens Maple Chipolte sauce. Making me hungry just thinking about it.[p]RE

Louisiana Redneck, WWWYYYAAAHH!! That's me crying. The website must not be up anymore. Glad I've still got a few bottles left. Mine all mine.

Louisiana Redneck,[p]Fro the sauce for pulled pork, have you tried Scott's Barbecue Sauce?[p][p]
[ul][li]Scott's Family Barbecue Sauce[/ul] -

Louisiana Redneck,[p]Try some blueshog sauce. It's good on everything. www.blueshog.com.

Louisiana Redneck, I ran up on this one in the North Ga mountains just this weekend and it was so good I bought a bottle. Me buying it is very out of the ordinary because it had a little sweet tang to it, which I don't usually care for, but was not thick and syrupy. It is: Hallman's Bear Creek - 828-524-4302 or email mikescabin1@aol.com

Louisiana Redneck,[p]
I recently returned from Saratoga Springs New York.
Got two bottles of sauce and about a dozen bottles of hotsauce from[p]Hot stuff of Saratoga. Don't know the web address. Good product, good people. I have been going there for years, and it was good to see them on the Food network not that long ago.[p]David

Louisiana Redneck,
Hey man! How you be? I don't know all the in's, out's or ingredients, but have you tried our very own Ken Stone's (Bluesmoke) Happy Pappy Sauce. Man, I love it, and there's not too many that I like. [p]Hope all is well.[p]Mike

Louisiana Redneck,[p] I highly recommend the Ugly Brother Raspberry/Chipolte sauce.[p]http://www.uglybrothers.net/RECIPES/sauce.htm[p]It got RAVE reviews when I made it and it is simple to make.[p]John

Louisiana Redneck,[p]I like Butch's Smack Your Lips sauce. Spicy sweet is my choice of flavors. Pyro is pretty good and Super Pyro is, well lets say, a little goes a long way. His Magic Dust is a pretty good all around rub as well.[p]Chuck[p]
[ul][li]Butch's[/ul] -
Jethro,[p]That is some goooood stuff. One of the best store bought sauces. Ken Stone's "Happy Pappy" is awsome too!

For pulled pork, I second the recommendation for Bone Suckin' Sauce. I prefer the hot version but both are good.[p]Toy Man

Louisiana Redneck,[p]Ribs - Big Bob Gibson's Championship Red Sauce[p]Pork - Big Bob Gibson's Backyard Mustard Sauce or Alabama Red Sauce[p]Chicken - Big Bob Gibsons Original White Sauce[p]
[ul][li]Big Bob Gibson's Sauces[/ul] -
ShockAt360,[p]I agree. Bib Bob makes some of the best sauces I've tasted. The Championship Red is perfect for ribs. Their rub is pretty good too.

Louisiana Redneck,
The only commercial BBQ Sauce that I cannot do without is Mama Mirl's Jamaican BBQ Sauce.

Hey guys,[p] Well, thanks for all the help. The only problem now is, it looks like my next 3 months will be busy trying new sauces. Thanks for the help.[p]

Chuck,[p]Ah yes you can't go wrong with Butch's either.[p]Keep em Smokin,
Jethro

Yo R & J,
A little more info about Mama Merl's if you could?
I think I feel a jerk phase coming on.
Oh and what's up?

Chef Arnoldi, I like it and my son even took a jar I made home with him. Says it's his favorite sauce.
