Eggs at the DC BBQ Battle

Howdy all. Just a quick report. We set up Friday night at midnight, and just rolled in the door. A long weekend, and today was about 100 degrees on the streets of DC. 60 teams gathered, including many top teams in the country. (Tuffy, Myron, Pellet Envy (KCBS team of the year last year), Scottie (Jack winner 2 years ago), etc.
The eggs made a statement. Huge congrats to Team BobbyQ with a third overall. Charlie (Chah-lay) and Bobby traveled up from Atlanta and showed us how it is done on Eggs. Nice work fellas.
Just a cupla points behind, in the 4th spot overall...Dizzy Pig, also cooking on Big Green Eggs®. What a bunch of fun. Our eggs performed flawlessly..

You guys all did a great job in that tough crowd. I was glad to see Bobby and Sir Charles come out of the slump they seem to have been in the last few contests. Eggs do make a statement at most contests. have a good holiday this weekend.

I recommend this fest as a fun one at which to just hang out, for those of you who want to visit a Q fest that's a little different than most if you're not participating. There is a ton of live entertainment, lots of food/drink, you're within easy access of many Washington tourist attractions, and it draws some really great teams. I didn't go this year -- I already had plans and man, it was hot this year -- but I have been several times in the past. It's also on the streets, not in a park, which creates a different atmosphere.
