Kids went down early so we wanted to try out our el-cheep-o food grinder from Harbor Freight. Never tried this before and we had pork fling everywhere. We had a blast. She wasn't fond of the pig intestine tho..Those things blow up like balloons..lol..and yes we do need to get out more often. :P

F-M,
You're on fire. Nice one!
I'm cooking up a garlic/fennel pork shoulder over night. Should be good!

The brat's look great Mike! I'm looking forward to seeing them on the egg. Looks like the meat grinder did a good job. Good post!

Those look really good! Nice job

Looks great - did you mix in some spices into the sausage mix before you put it in the casing? or is this straight up pork meat?
-
looks good, but where are the fresh links?
made some fresh brats over the weekend. stuffing them today, and doing sweet italian sausage, chicken and sun-dried tomato withbasil, and (perhaps) some hotdogs
nuthin beats the fresh stuff.
and frankly, i prefer brats to hot dogs now. dogs kick back on me a little too much. hahaha
did you have ny trouble keeping everything cold and getting a good emulsification? -
I'll bet those are gonna be good!!
gotta love a brat. -
Good job. Did you follow a recipe? As far as I can tell the cheap grinder worked great. Tim

oops/ missed these shots when i replied the first time.
looks good. the natural casing is the only way to go, tell the wife to get over it. hahaha -
Good job...Now how long before we eat. :laugh:Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

I also bought the el-cheapo grinder from Harbor Freight and haven't used it yet. It looks like it worked well. Where did you get the casing from? What seasonings did you use?
It looks like a fun project to do together.
