Folks,
I have been cooking between 2 and 3 racks (typically cut in half on a rack) in my large comfortably. I do not foil or finish with sauce - a little more old school with more smoke and spraying with beer and apple cider vinegar for about 5 hours at 250 or so.
I have folks coming over that necessitate I figure out how to get 5 or 6 racks on my large. Any suggestions (or better, a picture) would be GREATLY appreciated.
Hot as Hell in Texas  :ermm: !!!! Heading to 102F on Saturday (and we are playing baseball all afternoon).

Use a rib rack (no pun intended), you ought to be able to get 6 racks on there pretty comfortably.
-
I've done 6 before but I have an adjustable rig. Get a rib rack or make your own multi level grid system.

If eenie meenie can do 15 slabs of BB ribs on XLG you should be able to do 6 racks on a large. Tim

You don't need to cut the racks in half.....just bend them some toward the front, and place the rack toward the back. You will have to rotate the racks during the cook, but you will have success. Don't forget the platesetter and a drip pan! Take pics! And no worries about serving "warped" looking ribs, once they are done and put on a plate, they will flatten right out again. (ie...the bend/unbend test...)

I've used a vertical rack for 6 slabs of BB ribs as well as the adjustable rig for 6 slabs horizontal style. Rib rack only shows 4 but I do 6 with no trouble.

you got some good answers. let me just add something that was explained for me when i got here early on. i was chastised good-naturedly ( :ermm: ) , but have remembered it ever since: a 'slab' is the long full set of ribs, which are then cut up into 'racks' of just a few to as many as half the ribs.
i got spanked on that one, as well as for my not understanding that "barbecuing" was not the same as "grilling". which in retrospect seems pretty basic
i won't mention the time i asked if smoke only 'penetrated' the meat for the first hour. hahahaha -
Here are Pics of 2 large Beef racks and 3 BB's but I have done 6 BB's on a rack at one time.

I have seen pics where someone wrapped them in a circle and had several racks on maybe some one will chime in
