Is there a certain rub to stay away from when putting it on a brisket! Just wondering if the rub i put on pork butts would be good on beef? Any thoughts.

This is what I use on brisket, ribs, chicken etc............
    LoneStarEgg Rub

    1 Cup Brown Sugar
    1 TBS Coarse Black Pepper
    1 TBS Paprika
    2 TBS Granulated Garlic
    1 TBS Onion Powder
    1 TBS Kosher Salt
    2 Tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning
    2 TBS Peach Gelatin (Jell-O)

Measure all ingredients into a gallon zip lock bag, seal trapping some air inside and shake to mix.

My wife doesn’t like it spicy, but for a little more Zip, Add:
    1 TBS Cayenne Pepper
    1 TBS Chili Powder

I have not yet ventured into mixing my own rubs, but plan to shortly. I like Robert Rainken's general purpose barbecue rub on my briskets.
