i'm going to do a bunch of chicken legs on my large bge tomorrow. what is your favorite way of doing them? i was thinking indirect on 350/400 dome for an hour or so. i've seen some people using the hangers indirect. where can i get those? anyone prefer to go direct with the legs? thanks for any tips!

i like to go direct around 350/400, but HIGH direct, using either my adjustable rig with the grid on the top of the rig, or with a regular grid but then a grid extender on top of that .. .that way the chicken is far enough above the fire that there is no burning on the chicken ....
indirect at around 400 is another really good way to go though, and i will do that pargicularly if i'm doing a big load of chicken and want to just pile it up and keep moving it around in the pile. .. -
You can get the hangars at Loews or Home Depot. I do dark meat pieces indirect with a drip pan. -RP

I've never done chicken parts indirect. I raise the grid to gasket level and cook direct at 375°-ish. Doesn't take very long. 20-30 mins maybe?
My favorite is to marinate thighs or legs for several hours in Goya Mojo Criollo. Grill as above, using cherry wood for smoke and turning occasionally til done. Some of you are probably getting tired of seeing this pic...
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
