Made a pan of Dorito casserole for dinner. Got the recipe from Jay (SSN686). Layers of crushed Doritos, beef, Ranch beans, cheese, and topped mith Rotel mixed with chicken soup. Cooked indirect at 350 for an hour. Came out great!

I used to eat this all the time growing up! I'm going to have to make it sometime after seeing your post.

That has to be one of the weirdest dishes I've seen made out of everyday products. I'm not sure what to say except if it tastes good, eat it!!

It is really good. Give it a try. Don't be afraid to try new things. ;)

Fair enough, it's hard to argue with that :).

You know I might just have to. Can you post exactly how you layered it. Likewise, does anything need to be pre-cooked?

Here is the recipe for the Mexican/Dorito casserole that was sent to me. My thoughts for next time are in bold.

    Ingredients:

    Large bag of Doritos
    1 pound ground beef
8 ounce package shredded cheddar cheese
    1 can Ranch Style beans
(These were hard to find for my so I suggest using Hormel Chili w/ Beans)
1 can Rotel with green chiles
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup

    Preparation:

Brown ground beef and grease a 2.5 quart casserole (we used a 9x13
disposable Aluminum pan the other night). Crunch Doritos and put a layer on
the bottom of the dish, then layer the ground beef, then the Ranch Style
bean. Next layer the cheddar cheese, then another layer of Doritos. Mix
Rotel & chicken soup together and pour over the layers.

Bake at 350 for one hour (I did indirect, platesetter feet up with grid on
    feet, then pan on grid)

Easy as can be! Next time I would probably actually double the beef, beans, and cheese and do another layer of each! Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did!

    Looks good WhackMaster
I have made this, been a long time. Ranch style beans is a brand name canned pinto beans in a unique gravy or sauce. You can substitute any canned pinto beans or left over pintos youve made from scratch.
